  The hotel is super well located, though the street itself is not very pretty, next to several bus stations and close to Postdamer Platz. The room is spacious and well decorated (big mirror in front of the bed). It is a bit worn out with scratches everywhere. The walls are also super thin, you hear other guests taking their shower. Otherwise, I really loved the breakfast buffet, very complete and so good. The reception staff was lovely, especially when they found my forgotten personal things. I think the hotel is good value for money and suitable for people visiting most of the day.

  Enjoyable stay

  We stayed 3 nights in this hotel during our winter break visiting Berlin and Xmas markets. Very nice hotel, very stylish and modern. Comfy beds and really nice room. We had a self catering package so didnt use the restaurant at the hotel. There are plenty of cafes around for all day mills and Potzdam platz is 15 minutes walk walk which offers lots of places to eat and has its own Xmas markets. Staff was nice and sorted out the coffee machine very promptly for us. Bathroom with a shower was huge, always hot water, different shower features. Air con / heater in the room - was very cozy. The metro links was close by so easy to get around.Overall very good stay at this hotel, will defo recommend it to others.

  Good location but that's as good as it gets

  The hotel reception was beautiful, loved the decor. We arrived around noon and although they state 3pm check in we thought we would check. The receptionist said our room wasn't ready, fine, we asked when it would be and she said probably not much before 3pm. We asked if the bar was open and she advised it doesn't open until 5pm which was disappointing as we would have liked a drink whilst waiting. We ventured out in order to get a drink and came back just after 3 where there were several people queing. This seemed to take quite some time to get checked in!!! We headed to our room which was lovely and spacious. Couldn't fault the room. However no coffee making facilities at all. The room description stated a Nespresso machine and mini bar in all rooms however this was not the case. We went to reception to ask for some coffee as we had a kettle, she gave us some Nespresso pods which one we couldn't use! They didn't have any other coffee or milk. We had to wait until the next day to speak to another receptionist to ask if there was a Nespresso machine, she seemed to think we were mistaken however the day after we had one on our room. The room was very hot, and the thermostat didn't seem to work. We had a roller blackout blind but no way of working this??!! So it was lucky it was December and dark otherwise this would have woke us up early. Every morning we were woken up at 5am as we were literally right next to the kitchen, wow the noise was ridiculous!! We struggled to sleep anyway with the noise coming from some sort of fan that I can only imagine comes from the kitchen?! After exploring for the day we headed back to the hotel for a drink on the bar, this was empty so we asked what time it was opening and they told us it wasn't. So the bar was only open the Saturday that we arrived. Very disappointing and we were never made aware of this upon check in. The hotel location was bang on so couldn't fault this but I wouldn't stay at this hotel again unfortunately

  I have been in the XL Quentin before and I love the Dekor. Its a very stylish and beautiful Hotel however the management is so poor that it seems that they either don’t care if guests are happy or they thing its ok to treat their guests like this. The rooms are dirty and not looked after. If you want your room cleaned you do need to tell reception before 11pm and if you are lucky someone is coming around next day to do some basic cleaning however don’t have high expectations and make a request for toilet paper, coffee and towels in advance, cleaning will be very basic if at all. Don’t expect too much. What really strikes me is that the recepition seems nice and competent but perhaps has no authority or no supportive management to follow up on guests requests, they promise you to fix or clean things but either there is no housekeeping available or they can’t fix it. Seems like housekeeping is non existing nor management cares if guests are happy. Its a shame how this Hotel Management has run this beautiful Hotel in the ground.
