  A great place to stay in a great section of town!! Highly recommend for families going to the zoo or aquarium. Definitely sign up for breakfast on your booking because it was great with a lot of options. Berlin is so easy to get around, and there was always a bus back here. Loved the neighborhood and felt safe even late evening.

  FIRETRAP UNSAFE Dreadful, dingy and unsafe hotel. WORST STAY EVER.

  Dangerous fire trap - should be shut down. Amazed that other travellers seem to overlook this because it's cheap for the location (?!?)The only thing going for this hotel is its location. The Hotel should be shut down though!The main entrance and corridors are disgusting and dangerous. It was clearly once a very grand building, but it isn't being maintained:- Main staircase & floor held together with tape mostly coming off. How is this safe? How is this fire rated? There are also big patches of tape forming large sections of the floor itself. I fell on the upper stairs.- Lift is a joke - battered old and no maintenance.- Checking in is ridiculous: take luggage up two flights of stone and threadbare carpeted stairs to first floor. Then TINY very old and battered lift up to reception (which isn't) then up a flight of unsafe taped stairs to the fourth floor actual reception. Then I'm told by the unsmiling man on reception that I'm on the 1st floor, so I now have to manage my luggage down the unsafe taped stairs (which I fell on), into the lift and to my room. By the time I was there I was sweaty, exhausted and sore with a pulled back.- Breakfast = the hot food wasn't hot and it was very poorly stocked throughout.- Website says over prestigious offices when in-fact you are over a burger bar, a kebab restaurant and a cocktail bar.My room (119):- I asked for a quiet room. I got one over a cocktail bar that played the same music on repeat all day.- Who designed the room?There are no light switches by the bedThe kettle was on a drop down wall table - dangerous anyway with no sockets near it.The only place for the kettle was on the fridge, but then you can't use the lamp.The only other socket is directly next to the door?The door doesn't seal so it lets light and sound in, meaning that I heard every time someone used the large doors to the hallway.The tiny single quilt found it's way to the floor at least three times a night.What's the raw pipe exposed in the bathroom?When my room was 'serviced' the bathroom wasn't cleaned, nor were the cups etc cleaned.No tea or coffee even? One fruit tea stuck to the saucer on arrival?Complained to management = no responseComplained at desk = said not the be their responsibility(!)

  The booking page included a lift but didn’t say about the whole amount of staairs! I do not recommend at allThe staff are not nice or polite

  We reserved two rooms and one was ok and had AC. The other was very small and did not offer AC. One room had a wall of windows but the wall control for the blinds was not working. Be aware that there are two unavoidable sets of stairs and possibly three if your room is on the fifth floor. The only way to the that floor is a spiral staircase. There is a lift to the floor where reception is, but again, there are two sets of stairs to navigate. If you have considerable luggage, take that into account.

  scammers- Extremely Disappointing Experience – Held My Belongings Over Unproven Accusation

  I stayed at this hotel with my two 10-year-old children and was shocked by how we were treated. The hotel accused me of smoking in the room based solely on a cup of cigarette butts that I had left outside the window, which had apparently fallen back inside. There was no smoke, the detector never went off, and no one witnessed any smoking.They kept the smelly cup inside the room, and instead of addressing any concerns professionally, they used it as a reason to lock us out and demand €200 to let me retrieve our personal belongings—including clothes, ID, and my house keys. Their behavior showed zero concern for our well-being—especially with two young children involved. It was clear they were only focused on extracting money.The staff were rude, showed no empathy, and the manager never even showed up. I was forced to call the police, and only with their presence was I allowed to collect my things.I would strongly warn families and solo travelers against staying here. No guest should be treated this way. This was an extremely distressing experience that no one should have to go through while traveling.
