    Charming small hotel

    A small boutique hotel about 6mins walk from main station on quiet side of town. There are a few steps from street to reception entry. There is a tiny lift that can fit two person or one person with a suitcase.We stayed in a room on third floor so was happy there is a lift there. The WiFi wasn’t working in the room on the days we were there, which was very inconvenient. There is no kettle and no hair dryer in room. But was happy with bottle of free water provided in room. Overall, satisfied stay.

    Superb location, clean and comfortable rooms and a good range of continental breakfast options available. Having driven from South Wales to Cologne through 5 different countries, we were welcomed at the hotel by the owner who was herself born in Wales! Very friendly staff and a family atmosphere. Toffee, the owners dog is a real cutey. If you are looking for a pet friendly hotel in the heart of Cologne a stone's throw from the cathedral then look no further!

    Delightful family run hotel

    The hotel was well located near the Rhein and a short walk to railway station . We spent four nights. Our room was spacious, with a desk , two sitting chairs and had a separate sitting area . The bathroom was a generous size with quality fittings. The breakfast was excellent. We had a selection of muesli, fruit, boiled eggs and bread, juice and in addition we were given a plate of cold meats and cheese to our table. The security was good - and had a separate key to the front door. There is a small bar but we did not use it. There were several restaurants very close by that were convenient for an easy dinner.

    Situated in a quiet, convienient area, close to all amenities. The room was spotless and the bed confortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a large variety to choose from.However, I would not class this as a hotel. It is not manned after 20.00 until breakfast the following day. The small bar closes at 20.00 and there are no facilities in the room to make a hot drink and no fridge.We woke up in the morning feeling quite dehydrated with no way of getting anything to drink until breakfast. We ensured that we did some shopping for our second night.The small lift, holding one person with luggage, or two people without, stops between floors meaning that you have to carry luggage either up or down a number of steps. There are also steep steps to negotiate at the entrance to the hotel. If you are in any way mobility compromised this is not for you.The bathroom could also be problematic, the shower was over the bath with no mat and no ridging in the bath to prevent slipping.

    Great location and a good hotel

    I have never been to a hotel where there was no staff present in the evening and had to collect the keys. It is interesting what COVID has done. Coming to the hotel, the location is not far from the train station - 10 min walk (longer if you are hauling luggage); once we reached, we collected the keys from the 'safe' outside the hotel. There was really no staff to guide us - it was easy getting to the room. The room was spotless and lovely in just white. A bed room plus a small separate lounge area which we found just perfect. The window overlooked the courtyard and had a fire escape access which we used as a balcony. Everything was good about the room expect the shower where the water pressure was low and was more like a sprinkler than a shower. Breakfast was actually nice - breads, coffee, cheese, fruits, eggs etc. The owners was helpful and chatty - I guess, we are all recovering and adapting to the COVID pandemic. Location wise, its perfect to get around anywhere by walking - to the Dom and surrounding areas or to the Zoo. Close to the river side as well. Stay there again, yes!
