  Good Courtyard close to center

  We stayed three nights during Christmas markets and were welcomed by a friendly staff member. The hotel and room were clean. We did not have breakfast here but instead went to city center to a delicious bakery. We did have drinks and late-night snacks at the Kitchen and Bar at the hotel. Again, really nice staff and good drinks/food. It is about a 20-minute walk from the train station and the city center. Our room was on the busy road but since it was winter, the windows were closed, and the room was quiet. Yes, we would recommend this hotel.

  Stayed two nights here. City center walkable. Room was clean. As Marriott,members we were left a nice note and Xmas sweet treats. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean and quiet. Bar and restaurant in the hotel. Parking on sight.

  Having stayed in many Marriott over the years I was rather disappointed with the hotel in Cologne. On first impressions the reception area and check in was fine. The hotel is also only 20 minutes walk to the Cathedral so fairly central. However, the room felt small for deluxe kingsize room and I had very dirty curtains ( surely this is an easy thing to fix). We stayed 4 nights and I had to ask on two separate occasions if the shower gel, conditioner and shampoo could be refilled. The first day the request was ignored which meant i had to ask again. I also asked for fresh water as we were given a small carton on the day of arrival. The gentleman on reception informed me that they only give water every 3 days. I asked if they could give me some to which he argued with me that I should drink tap water. For a large hotel chain surely bottled water each day should be expected?? I certainly don't think i should have to argue my case! The other issue was when I asked for some milk. I was given sachets of powered milk. I asked if it would be possible for UHT and was told she would have to ask her supervisor.....Really? Both my sister and I had the same room.types however her room had no coffee machine or tea and coffee (only fruit teas). The breakfast was fine and there was a very lovely young man who waited on us in the restaurant one evening. He was fantastic and was happy to obliged when we asked for sauces! Thankfully, we were out all day and only spent limited time in the room. Marriott, you can do better!   A new feeling hotel with a good service but awkward room configuration

  We stayed at this new hotel for one night during our visit to Cologne. The hotel is quite new and modern. It's close to the centre and 15-20 minutes walk to the Cologne cathedral. We were offered a room upgrade to a larger room and a free breakfast due to our Marriott status, which made our experience even more pleasant. The room was super silent and made it a great place to sleep comfortably.The hotel doesn't have much amenities apart from comfortable rooms and a cosy lobby with a restaurant. So it is targeted to meet the basic needs and it exactly does that. The room has nice tea / Nespresso machines and a safe. The bed was comfy and the towels were soft. The bathroom was in a clean state even though we found the toilet brush in the toilet bowls when we entered the room which was a bit awkward as we didn't want to touch it in that state. There was also a nice cookie and water left in the room which was a pleasant surprise.The decoration in our room was not that well planned as the toilet/bathroom is separated from the bedroom space with a frosted glass only. This is a horrible decoration choice because of privacy reasons. Also if someone needs the bathroom at night, the whole room lights up. Apart from the bathroom, the TV in the room was located in a weird setting where it is placed on the side wall with a 90 degree angle. There is an arm that you can pull the TV from but it also gets in the way of the lamp they placed next to it. We found such a large room is decorated so badly that even small Moxy rooms make use of the space much more effectively.The restaurant was quite busy when we were there but the buffet had a nice variety of offerings that we enjoyed. Fresh juices and pretzels were our favourite.Overall, it was a comfortable and good value stay. The hotel is great for a person looking for a semi-central stay at a great value. While there are above areas of improvements, it offers a comfortable stay and we would consider staying here again if we visit Cologne.

  “Travel isn’t about comfort. It’s about being reminded, in small moments, that you’re welcome somewhere new.”At the Courtyard Cologne, that welcome comes from its people. The restaurant and bar staff make you feel like a regular from the moment you sit down—pouring wine generously, offering warmth that lingers long after the glass is empty. It’s the kind of hospitality you remember more than the lobby or the linens.The stay wasn’t without its flaws. Breakfast was modest, with limited fruit, oats, and potatoes. The weight room is bright but so small that four guests fill it completely. My room was clean, but the carpet showed its wear, and the air conditioning shut off after a few minutes—a nod to energy policy more than guest comfort.Still, the staff carried the experience. Every interaction was kind, attentive, and genuine. I left Cologne reminded not of what didn’t work, but of the people who did.
