    Friendly Staff and Fabulous Breakfast Buffet

    We stayed at this hotel at end of September/early October. The front desk staff was very pleasant and welcoming, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options—special shout-out to the breakfast team, who were all courteous, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The hotel is about a brisk 10-minute walk from the train station.The room itself was clean and functional, though not as comfortable for remote work as I had hoped. The chair was more of a modern design piece than a work chair, so I ended up working from the bed most of the time. I’ve also noticed a trend with Holiday Inn Express properties lately—there isn’t much shelving or wardrobe space. I had to use my luggage as a makeshift table for clothes, while my husband used the small wardrobe provided.The room included a tea kettle (for coffee lovers, there’s instant coffee in-room or a coffee machine available in the breakfast area). When we requested extra towels, the staff responded quickly and efficiently. Overall, it was a good stay, and what truly made this hotel stand out was the fantastic breakfast buffet.

    The Holiday Inn at Cologne was exactly similar to the one in Frankfurt. We loved the feeling of familiarity as we moved from Frankfurt to Cologne. The room was exactly the same as was the breakfast buffet. Comfortable stay with nice, clean rooms.

    It's a little out of the way from Koeln city centre, but we knew that before booking. The bus was the best option when travelling to it. Handy being net door to a McDonalds and at Lidl about 10 minutes walk. The hotel felt newish and everything was clean and tidy. Room was lovely and bathroom was especially good for a budget hotel. Also a quiet room out the back, rather than the road side. Was awoken a couple of night with late night revellers in the park though. Breakfast was okay but one thing you have to change is the juice - obviously made from concentrate (which I understand) but it was so watered down it tasted like slightly orangey water - foul! Thought it was the mistake the first morning but was like it ever morning. If you don't need to stay in the centre of Koeln it's a good option.

    We stayed in many holidays inn express in Germany but that one was really special. The minute we walked in the receptionist Cater welcomed us with the smile on his face, one happy fella who loves his job and you can tell. His english was so good, he gave us all the informations we needed and more, he delivered 100% of customer service. The breakfast wasn’t any different, we have been greeted by another happy face Salman, who made our experience even better. Breakfast was really nice, a lot of options, everything replenished to full even when we arrived at 10.00am. Buffet area was very clean. Hotel is located near motorway and for the dog owners there is only seven minutes walk towards beautiful river Danube, 400m from hotel is traditional German restaurant when also dogs are welcome and food was very nice. Overall experience was 10/10, thanks guys for wonderful stay.

    Hotel had a pleasant atmosphere and had easy parking inside their car park or can park at the side road. All receptionists were very friendly and breakfast was good. Easy to get by car or bus to the town shops. There is a dual carriageway right at the door step which links to a motorway I believe as we travelled easy to other towns few miles away.Well relaxing trip and maximised the days to see new places. Great drive to Cologne.
