  I was very pleased with the hotel, its close proximity to the Bonn Bahnhof and the center of the city, the staff, the breakfasts, and the amenities in the sleeping room. This was a good experience and I would use Intercity when traveling again in the future.The only item that did not work for this trip was the on-line reservation process.   Avoid peak-time breakfast

  A pleasant, modern hotel. But breakfast was strangely contrasting. On Friday almost 100 people turned up at 8 o'clock so there were long waits at the buffet, and at the single working coffee machine. It was hard to find a table, and when I did, staff twice removed my orange juice when I went to look for food. In the end I ate at a nearby café instead. On Saturday at the same hour things were very much quieter and I discovered a well-stocked buffet with plenty of choice. There was still only one coffee machine but it didn't matter so much.   I have given this hotel only 1 star for it's good breakfast which is the only good thing about this hotel. Reception staff the most miserable, unwelcoming & unhelpful ever encountered. Stayed 4 nights. Our room was not served at all during this time, despite the soap in shower being empty. We were offered servicing at 17.50hrs.the evening before we departed whilst we finishing our packing to depart the following morning (We declined)Restaurant & Bar closed Michael Beyer, General Manager at IntercityHotel Bonn, responded to this review Dear guest, thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback with us. I'm very sorry to hear that your stay with us was so disappointing and that you had such a negative experience. This certainly doesn't meet our standards of service and guest care, and I can well understand how frustrating this must have been for you.   We had booked a double room but we're given a twin. As the hotel was mostly empty we were surprised that the request could not be met. On complaining we moved to a lower floor, also lower spec, and had to get everything ourselves, a second towel, a second pillow, duvet, covers... tea making facilities also weren't there. We got a kettle but the cups we took from the dining area were taken by the cleaner each day, till we started hiding them. Disappointing, as previous stays have been great, and as the location is central plus close to family, it had been a good choice until now.

  Visited for 2 nights during the Euros, couldn’t fault location right next to Bonn station and short walk to shops, bars and restaurants. Very central yet quiet room despite location. No complaints other than we would have liked an earlier check in time, but the hotel were happy to keep our luggage and check us in when we got back from the football at 1am :)
