  Good little 3 star hotel, well located and well priced

  Located by the back entrance of Cologne Central Station and next to The Musical Dome, this hotel perfectly met my needs for location, price, comfort and safety. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities include a breakfast room, a small selection of cold drinks and snacks to purchase at reception, a sauna and a fitness room. The rooms have old fashioned Yale lock keys which surprised me but my room was clean, larger than I expected, the bed was very comfortable, and I had a lovely view of the cathedral. I appreciated the two bottles of water left every day. And I really like the art hanging in the corridors. It might be nice if the breakfast room was left open during the day and although my room was spotless the lobby carpets could do with a little TLC.

  Customer Beware Scam !

  This hotel scammed me ! They offered a room at a discounted rate online and then when I booked it, my credit card was billed the previous undiscounted rate. When I tried to discuss the error (really?), they firmly denied the wrongdoing and refused any refund. They basically stole almost 200 E from me.

  Killer location. Not set up for drivers. Not even an area for a driver to pull up and unload. I did so in the bus parking area. Once you clarify that your on your own with parking the Hotel isn't that bad. The Location for the Station or markets is great. Surprisingly it was fairly quiet. My room wasn't fancy but for a night was fine. Clean, spacious, and for the most part quiet. Staff at the front desk was helpful upon check-in, however, they are a little militaristic about letting you in. They do not keep the front door open. You are required to buzz in, then you are questioned upon entry. Not real cool.

  We were not familiar with Colonge, but getting off the train we were next to our hotel and the Musical Dome where Moulin Rouge is playing now. It was a great location next to The Dom. Tons of stores, souvenir shops and tourist stores and info. The rate for this great convenience was worth it.

  Ugly duckling on the outside bit a pleasant surprise on the inside

  The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The hotel foyer was light and bright and easy to find, right on the street corner. The building itself is quite unattractive but opposite the main train station.The public areas of the hotel were clean and well kept, albeit a little dated, but in good condition. The hallways were light and bright with views out across the city from the stairs, which I used often, as the lift was a little slow/busy at times. There was a sauna on level 3, but it was out of order.The room I had was very clean and recently refurbished and in excellent condition. Thankfully, I had a window that opened, albeit overlooking a very noisy street, which didn't bother me, but it would certainly bother others. When the window was closed, the room was very quiet. Sadly, the room didn't have any air-conditioning nor a fan. I would not want to stay here if the weather was warm or even hot, as it would be unbearable. I didn't know this was the case when I booked the hotel. Maybe I just didn't read it on their website, or it is just not mentioned. The rooms would benefit from at least a ceiling fan.The king-size single bed was very comfortable, and the linen was fresh and clean everywhere. The bathroom was very spacious and in excellent condition. The water pressure was brilliant. A glass shower screen should be installed replacing the plastic curtain.The rooms have old-fashioned, traditional keys for entry.
