    Great hotel about 10 minutes on foot from the centre of Cologne. Bed was really comfortable and room was very big. The breakfast was pretty good also with lots of choice. Would stay again if in Cologne.     First class hotel in an excellent location. Very nice staff at reception and restaurant, always pleasant, helpful and friendly. Cleanliness of my room was spotless, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was superb with choices for everyone.     As expected of many European hotels, extremely good value relative to hotels in the States

    I had the pleasure of finally ticking off Germany off my country list - though albeit for a quick in and out (i do hope to actually spend more time here - especially when the weather is better. Though even if it was rainy, it wasn't as cold as i was expecting).Anyways, as the name indicates, it is not far from the main Cologne Station (Koln Hbf). Just 2 stops on the 5 Tram. (If you're impatient, you can theoretically take one of the other lines to the intermediate station, and then swap platforms to get there - it is sometimes faster to do that even if it means an extra walk.Check-in was quick, and I immediately hit the shower after a long (and unfortunately uncomfortable flight in - I'm dreading the return flight as I type this). To my surprise and delight, it was a rainfall shower with a moveable shower hose as well (or whatever you call it). I will swear by rainfall showers until the day I die, and it is so nice to just be drenched. Not only that, but I never had to worry about the temperature, because the controls are literally buttons - turning on/off, adjusting the temperature and switching between the hose and the rainfall shower. It was an open walk-in shower, but unlike some places I've seen in the US, they took the courtesy of putting a bump to prevent water from spilling down to the bathroom floor. Shocking simple, I know.Outside of the room temperature controls which took a while to figure out (this on the other hand was manual), the room was like any other room I'd been in. Oh, and I again was given the far end of the floor (or one of them anyways), and it was oh so quiet. Some noise did come in occasionally, but not like other places and it wasn't a bother at all The bed was comfortable, I had plenty of channels of TV to watch (and a lot of English news channels from all over Europe and beyond - which is much more than you get from the States). And weirdly I've never seen this, but the TV actually had a digital clock display in the corner of the TV. I'd never seen that before and while it's maybe not as useful as it is nowadays, I just found it cool.I was able to partake in the breakfast here as well, and it just puts breakfast in the States to shame (maybe outside of the upscale ones, and even then you're likely not getting value). This was well worth the price of admission. Breakfast is just better in Europe. I made sure I stuffed myself each day (not excessively though). You can even have fish if you wanted to! For breakfast!My European counterparts when I tell them the price I paid say that it's a bit expensive - but for someone like me from the States, this is a steal. I would gladly stay here again if I'm back in the area.     On the Western edge of the shopping area. And 20 mins walk from HBf station, we underestimated that distance a bit but it's doable.Spacious room, good modern bathroom. Excellent buffet breakfast (but pricey as it was not in our rate, 20 euro per person).
