Location

This hotel lies close to the Rhine, in the southern part of Bonn right by the museum mile. Within around 750 m guests will find bars, nightclubs and shopping opportunities. Museum Konig underground station is located right by the hotel, the trams 16, 63 and 66 as well as bus 610 run to Bonn's main train station around 1.5 km from the hotel. Poppelsdorf Castle is an around 20-minute walk away.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 4 suites, 101 apartments, 18 single rooms and 27 double rooms located in a 4-storey main building and a 4-storey auxiliary building. At the air-conditioned apartment hotel, guests are welcomed in the lobby with -hour reception desk and a -hour check-in/check-out service. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Film lovers are sure to find just what they're looking for in the cinema's listings. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a car hire service, a transfer service, room service (for a fee), an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service (for a fee). Bicycle storage is also available. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine. Lectures, presentations and meetings can be held in one of the 3 conference rooms.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. A balcony or terrace is a standard feature of some rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, stovetop, microwave, tea/coffee station and oven. There is also a washing machine, an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms include a hairdryer and are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

A sun terrace is a great place to while away the hours. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis, crazy golf and horse riding. Squash and aerobics or, for a fee, a gym, are among the sport and leisure options available. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam and a solarium. Subject to charge: massage treatments. A dance club and a nightclub round out the entertainment options.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a non-smoking restaurant, a dining room, a breakfast room and a bar. Catering options include half board and full board. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner. Special meals, including diet meals, are also available. The apartment hotel also offers special catering options.

    I had a Super bad experience! There is nothing nice to say about that horrible place! There was a very bad smell both in the corridor and the room! My room was on underground floor and there was no logic in numbering the floors! I was pregnant and I had to stay underground!!!!! The room door was stuck for more than 3 times during my 3 night stay!Someone else’s individual booking cancellation fee was put on other individual’s room, which is insane!!!! And the face of the person on reception was so ignorant that I cannot explain!The hotel’s location is quite bad, as you have to spend a lot of time to get to the center!Avoid this place!     excellent hotel in an excellent city

    It is already the second time that I stayed in the Living Hotel Kanzler in Bonn and in both cases I enjoyed it. I love walking and this hotel has an excellent location from which everything is so close: be it a historic center, bus/train station, a promenade along the river, my business partner locations... I also appreciate that each room has a fridge, a kettle, a coffee-maker. Or that there is also a table that I can use when I need to work. I do not need to say that rooms are spacious and clean and that the hotel personnel is very friendly and supportive.     Excellent location, close to public transportation and a short walk to the UN campus and to the downtown. The room was very spacious and I even had a lovely little terrace. The hotel was very clean and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.     Terrible service after midnight

    1. The machine outside the door to swipe the hotel key was not functional --- and this was apparently known to the staff, but no sign was put outside. 2. The call button on the same machine was also not functioning. We tried MULTIPLE TIMES. Again, no sign put outside of this malfunction. 3. I called the number indicated, the line was ringing but then eventually rerouted to a gentelman. After verifying that I am indeed a checked in guest to the hotel, i was transferred to the front desk, where it was later on picked up by somebody else saying his colleague was on the phone and will attend to us shortly. We stood outside in the cold for 30 MINUTES and still NO ONE had appeared to be in the front desk, although it should be manned at all times espeically when the malfucntion of the machine is known!!4. We found the BACK DOOR WAS OPEN !! and was able to make our way in the hotel. Looking in the room behind the front desk there was one person JUST SITTING THERE. He claims he never recieved a call and claims he did not hear us knocking and banging at the front. 5. We informed him that the machine was not functioning, which he confirmed he already was aware of. We informed him that the bell was not functioing and he had little to no concern on this matter. We informed him of the calls, and he denied ever receving or hearing any calls come through.

    Highly unpleasant experience mainly because of a unfriendly, disrespectful and condescending service. You get the impression that this is a place where the management only cares about making as much money out of their customers as fast as possible. There is zero investment in the hotel. I have never seen such disgustingly stained carpets and smelly old rooms. We had to go like 10 times to the reception as our door lock was not working. Be prepared to receive highly abused calls from the reception if you happen to leave your rooms 10 minutes late at check out. I feel ashamed being German considering what foreign visitors will think of German hospitality after staying in this place. We are sorry, that your stay was not to your satisfaction. We are in the process of replacing our carpets floor by floor. In addition we are deep cleaning our carpets regularly. Unfortunately some stains can´t be removed even by deep cleaning. Our keycards are unfortunately very sensitive to mobile phones and magnets and are demagnetized easily. If you are experiencing continued problems with your keycard you can always leave the card the the front office when you leave our house.We offer late Check Out for € 15,- per starting hour, which is openly communicated. If you are 15 minutes late that is no issue. In your case we granted you already a excemption of 30 minutes, that you overstayed for another 10 minutes which triggered the unfortunate discussion with our manager. Describing the call as "highly abusive" is a bit of a overstatement as he just descibed to you that the late Check Out Fee will apply after 40 minutes beyond the regular Check Out Time.We wish you the best for the future.Sincerely,Julia LonkowskiAss.
