With convenient transport connections, this exclusive, elegant hotel is situated in the Upper Rhine valley, directly in the former government district and in the grounds where the national horticultural show was once staged. Thanks to the hotel's central location, guests can easily reach numerous shops and historical sights via public transport or on foot. In only about 3 minutes, guests can reach the U-Bahn (metro) station Robert-Schumann-Platz, and the main train station is roughly 5 km away. In the immediate area, guests will find the famous sights of Bonn, such as the Museum Mile, the Medinghoven castle and the Kurfürstenquelle (natural spring). The local recreational area, 'Rheinaue,' is also nearby, and Cologne Cathedral is only approximately 35 km from the hotel.

The hotel has 412 rooms, including 41 suites and 85 single rooms, which are located on 6 storeys and are reachable by 5 lifts. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions.     A surprising gem!

    I had never stayed in the Maritim before, but there was a big event going on in Bonn and my usual hotels, Ameron and the Marriott, were completely full.I was a bit apprehensive because of some of the negative reviews, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I stayed on the 5th floor and it was one of the quietest nights in a hotel I can remember. The room was comfortable, cleaned beautifully every day and the shower was fantastic.The breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety and huge space with plenty of seating so it never felt crowded. I had dinner at their Italian restaurant two evenings and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. I was lucky it was 'spargel' season and it was delicious.There was a mixup regarding my credit card being charged before my arrival when I usually pay cash to avoid currency exchange charges. I had communicated with Laura and her responses were prompt and professional. She said I should talk with Marlon Sollgan when I check out to get it all sorted.I was expecting to have to explain everything again and was dreading it. Instead, when I asked for him at reception, he brightly said, 'You must be Mrs. Trojan and you want to pay in cash and refund your credit card!'. You can't imagine my relief. He was so enjoyable to work with and the transaction was smooth and easy. Thank you, Mr. Sollgan, for the impressive customer service. I will definitely be coming back to the Maritim now and recommending it to others.     Still okay, but getting old (and worse)

    I stayed in a comfort room on the 4th floor, which was quite okay, spacious and quiet, but very much showing its age. The same applies for the hotel. It felt to me like a very good hotel one or two decades ago, but it has been going down since then. The breakfast and evening buffet were partly great, and partly not, and the very same applied to the staff.     Poorly maintained large hotel

    Hotel is quite large and surrounded by greenery which is nice. However, it's far from pretty much anywhere else of you're on foot. Good thing is it's right next to Olof-Palme-Allee train station (use the back door opening to garden for a shortcut).I have stayed there last year as well. Unfortunately, I've found the hotel in worse condition this year. Needs some serious maintenance and refurbishment works. Many light fixtures, power outlets were not working in my suite. The furniture was noticeably old and torn. They provide tea bags but no kettle to make hot water. Reception told me to use the coffee machine instead which was obviously a terrible idea. You only get a brown water muddled with coffee remains.One of the worst things was the rats in the restaurant. You could see them almost every other day. And the problem is, it's not even news for anyone. It's just an ordinary day. The staff got used to it. Hopefully they will improve on maintenance and hygiene soon.     Disappointing. Room was rather dark. The pool and fitness are tiny, particularly in relation to the size of hotel. The not busily frequented common areas had spider webs and large layers of accumulated dust and loose wires on ground.     Avoid this place. Old hotel which has seem better days. The lobby is filthy with cobwebs covering the scaffolding supporting the glass atrium. There was garbage on the floors in the hallway. The water bottle I received at checkin had broken seal and seemed refilled. There was no coffee in the room and only available for purchase at the hotel at the same price they charge for room service (mine cost EUR 5.50). The hotel room doors when unlocked with card buzz loudly so you can hear your neighbors entering and exiting. Will not stay there again.
