  Very poor value for money - not comfortable

  In need of serious renovation and modernisation. Room smelt of old carpets and lack of ventilation. (Breakfast Dining Room smelt of old commercial kitchen/food). Squeaking doors. Paper thin walls - bedroom curtains too small for windows - balconies with no privacy - single pillows on beds with no headboards - defunct mini bar fridges - tired and old fashioned breakfast ingredients - outdated reception - uncomfortable mattresses - hard to identify staff, some in traditional waiter attire, some not. Pluses are free parking and cleanliness - not enough for 157 euro charge for 1 night.

Of course, we’re not Kempinski – we are a 3 star superior hotel – so we’d like to point out that our prices are much lower than the ones at Kempinski, too. Usually our breakfast is praised by our guests and our matrasses have been fully refurbished last year, so they sure are high quality products. Did you approach our friendly staff?   We first got a room on the third floor with "Rheinblick". This room was so dirty that my allergies flared up like never bevor.Asked for a new room we got a "we are fully booked" reply from the night staff. As we could not find a new hotel in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve, we stuck with the room.After a terrible night on a lumpy bed, which smelled as if the ashtrays of the hotel are emptied all over it, we asked the morning staff and got a new room on the first floor (directly over the attached pub.This room was not as dirty as the first; there were still many issues.Sadly the staff did not manage to get rid of the cobwebs, even when pointed out, during our five-day stay.As part of our package, we had dinner service. We are still unsure if waiting 3 hours for a cold goose with homoeopathic dumplings were worth it. Our housekeeper checked every detail of your first room with a beautiful view of the Rhine. But besides some dust residues on the edge of the minibar cabinet in front of the actual mini bar, the room was completely fine. We’d like to apologize for this little fluff of dust. The shower itself is absolutely clean and hygienic. However, there’s some corrosion damage in the lower layer of the material. The French bed in this room is in good order and condition and has a new mattress.On your complaint, we provided you with our last generous reserve room, also with view of the Rhine. We also assure you, that our rooms are cleaned every day.We were very pleased, that you felt our staff was very helpful and accommodating.Regarding the dinner, admission to the hall was at 18:00. After everyone was seated, we firstly served aperitif. Afterwards everyone got an Amuse geul as a greeting from the kitchen. During this time the ordered drinks were served and after this, we dished up the soup. At about 7:45 pm the freshly roasted goose was served with small potato dumplings and red cabbage.   Old and needs a renovation

  Visited the hotel as our other hotel booked redirected us to another hotel which we rejected so we found this.About the hotel. Quick summary. Old rooms which smells from earlier smokers which is not my taste. Bar in the hotel still accepts smokers indoors spite changed regulation is a bit strange.Rooms clean so no complaints on this but standard leaves more to wish. Positive was good wifi coverage.Will I come again.   Excellent breakfast - no Wi-Fi

  Located on the very coast line of the river Rhein the hotel has extremely beautiful scenery. Our family room was huge on it's size, and minor defects were fixed quickly by the staff. Only big minus was the not at all working WLAN - when asking receptionist about it she told us that the system is working perfectly, but we couldn't log in on iPhone, android or windows based apparatus. This is obviously a temporary problem, and I recommend the hotel anyhow.
