  Excellent design and convenient

  Initially one thinks the hotel is a little out of the way however as you become accustomed to the area you realise it is well placed for exploring Köln. There are a number of restaurants within 1/2 kmCheck in was quick and easy.We had a queen aqua room on the 8th floor which was a decent size, good views over the Dom and bridge (lit up at night). The room is well laid out. However in this room only one chair even if two people ( this is always annoying yet not restricted to the Hilton brand). Bed comfortable.Coffee machine/coffee good, easy to use. If you want specific teas bring your own. Bathroom is compact with a great shower, (two in fact) in the walk-in shower area. Great water pressure. Plug in hairdryer available and there's a socket in front of a mirror. Breakfast was extra for us and a typical price for this hotel rating. The pastrami hash is excellent. Health drinks on offer plus fresh squeezed orange juice (DIY). Usual hot and cold offerings. Bread is good. The muffin/cakes were not the best.Staff friendly and helpful.Bar area works well due to the views. However the food menu is not ( for me) exciting and on the high side for what it is so we didn't eat here. I'd happily recommend this hotel.   Disappointing watertower stay

  + Staying in an old watertower is a unique experience and the structure is beautiful. + There is a lovely little wintergarten and winterchalet on the yard+ The rooftop bar offers fabulous night views over the city+The corridors on floors 3 and 4 look quite good, and the corridors on floors 1, 2 and 7 look magical in the old watertower theme. Don't accept a room on other floors, if you want to have a unique watertower experience, as the other floors are just basic hotel room corridors. + The room was neat, goodlooking and spacious, but didn't resemble in any way the watertower theme I was looking for. -The booked room category was king water deluxe with beautiful arches in the watertower theme. I was given a queen aqua standard room by the sour receptionist man. I only realized this mistake after my stay. - The rooftop bar would be a perfect viewing platform also for daytime views, but it is closed during the day until 17. Then you have two hours to enjoy the daytime views before it gets dark at 19, maybe even less in the winter. I wish they would keep it open during the day as a viewing platform, even if the bar is closed. - The male cleaner came to the room when there was a Do not disturb-sign on the door and was very brazen and unapologetic about this. However, when I complained to the receptionist lady, I was very pleased with her response, she was very apologetic and promptly called the cleaning manager about the issue right away. Location is ok, close to the Neumarkt shopping centre and U-bahn station.   Lovely hotel, fantastic views.

  Came for 2 nights to see the Christmas Markets. It's a lovely hotel, which is an old water tower, so had some interesting features. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The views from the top of the tower where really good. The bed was comfy, and a nice shower. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection of things to eat.The only negatives were that the under floor heating couldn't be turned down, so the room was very hot, even with the air con turned right down. The window didn't have any way to keep it in one position when it was open.Being an international chain, it was dissapointing that the only English speaking channels were American news.   High on promise, low on delivery

  We were drawn in by the promise of a luxury hotel built in a repurposed stone water tower. What we experienced, though, was a mashup of interesting architecture (featuring some aging 90s design choices) and poor maintenance. What we liked: The rooms were spacious. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had a decent shower. What can be improved: The bathroom in one of our rooms smelled like septic. We couldn’t call down to the front desk to ask for it to be fixed because the phones were not working, so we went down to the front desk in disturbingly rattly, beat-up elevators to ask. They sent up housekeeping, who re-cleaned the bathroom, but that did not fix the problem. In our other room, there was a weird lack of lighting. It was very dark. Again, down the rattly elevators to the front desk to ask for help. They sent up a desk lamp. It helped a little, but not much. Finally, be aware that this hotel is a good 20-minute walk to the heart of town. In good weather, it’s probably not a big problem. In late November when it’s wet and near freezing every day, be prepared to spend some money on Ubers or taxis.
