Location

Gummersbach, set amongst the green, low mountain range of the Oberbergisches Land and only 45 min from Cologne, was made for leisure, recreation and sports. Guests will find the hotel, which was founded in 1832 as a central post office, far away from the city's hustle and bustle, yet still conveniently situated with good connections to 2 motorways. Cologne - Bonn Airport, Düsseldorf International Airport and Frankfurt International Airport are situated approximately 40 km, 90 km and 100 km from the hotel, respectively.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 4 suites, 20 single rooms and 73 double rooms located in two 3-storey buildings with lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Services such as a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Various dining options are available, including a restaurant, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu.     We had a lovely stay at this hotel last weekend. The room was big and clean, the breakfast was amazing, and the service as well. BUT the information on the website is misleading. There is no (open) indoor swimming pool (and that was the reason why we choose this place). We were disappointed because it was our only holiday this season together. When we checked out they did not ask if we had a nice stay. So here’s our feedback.     we got a very small and old room and bathroom barely to move. From bed linen got rashes on the skin. We got very poor breakfast. Staff was kind and helpful. it is certainly not a 4 star but a 2 stars.

    Hotel is set in nice gardens with Woods at the back and road into town at the front.Room was nice a lovely swimming pool and two saunas.Also there was a beauty salon in the hotel.Breakfast was very good,ate in the restaurant in the evening was excellent.Not much to do in the evening except sit in hotel bar.

    This was a great overnight stay. Awesome dinner, friendly people, awesome huge rooms (we had one with a balcony) and a great breakfast. We did not use the swimming pool but it looked nice. We woke up with a big load of snow, very pretty. One negative thing: when we had to leave we had to load in front of the hotel, only 2 meters room till the main road, and with the snow and dirt we ended up a little dirty. But we sure will be back.     Unusual hotel set in a nice location near Cologne. We had a room on the ground floor that was comfortable but rather dated. Cosy bar - restaurant a mixture of styles but food fine. Breakfast good so overall a nice stay for a reasonable price.
