    Very Poor

This is a hotel that has all the appearances of a premises about to close. The decor is shabby and look dirty. Only one item available for evening meals and that was of a very poor standard. The majority of the staff were very poor and customer service didn't seem to be high up on their standards. The bar closes at 10pm and guests are refused further drinks, oh and forget room service. The bar seemed to be run for friends of the staff, who went behind the bar and helped themselves. There are no facilities in the room for making Tea or coffee.

    A quirky but good place

This hotel has a strange appeal. The service was fairly good, especially the bar staff, but was often slow. The rooms were clean but were nothing special. We decided eating there might not be the best idea. But, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and relaxed. And, best of all, it was really easy to get to bakeries for breakfast and to the old town! Even our dog seemed comfortable here.

Basic Motel Style but spotlessly clean and five star staff.

    rating05 Mar 2019

Rooms are basic but exceptionally clean as is the hotel generally. Staff work very hard as a team and are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a good selection buffet style and the hotel restaurant has a set evening menu which appears popular with older locals. Overall it's good value for money. Don't expect too much from the rooms but for the price and cleanliness it's great value. Very easy walk into town cross the road crossing, through a small park and in through castle wall gate ( few hundred yards) then a pleasant residential walk of 5 mins into the city. Really easy and you won't get lost. Rooms have inner and potential outer door that works for families turning two rooms into one appartment.

    A good overnight stay.

The town and this hotel is usefully close to the motorway. The hotel gradually being modernised. Our room was newly painted and the en-suite re-tiled and decorated.A hot breakfast was not available this year. We have used this hotel In August for three years running. I’m sure we will be back again, next year.

    Good location

Not a great hotel but well located, with friendly albeit not always focused young staff and acceptable rooms. And not expensive. Large parking as well. After Soest-seeing we drank a wine (acceptable) outside. I have no problems recommending this hotel.
