    Great facility, Bedroom was large and comfortable. The bed was very comfy.We did not eat at the restaurant in the evening, but the breakfast was fantastic.We used the hotel as a local base whilst in the Ruhr valley, the negative was the roadworks on the motorways!

    This place is not worth a penny. It is ridiculous that is rated 4 stars. There's no water heater, tea or coffee in the room, bad central air conditioning, no treasure box, no flip flops, extremely rough staff, rasist manager, keys not working, they ask you when are you going to leave when you go to ask for third time to fix the key for the prepaid room, got robbed of all gold and cash while eating quickly the little breakfast which is same everyday and the fruits are in fermentation process, and kicked by the manager when I pointed that in the corridor was only the cleaning lady so if she haven't opened our door for robbers, then she must be the robber or seen it. Very conveniently they couldn't read the locker for the police and asked us to leave without showing a smallest sign of care that we've been robbed in the hotel. The only that the manager cared was where are we from to express her rasism. This place is rotten by any means

    Extremely nice hotel,outstanding breakfast and friendly staff. Quiet nights for a good sleep quality. Mondays the restaurant is closed but at 10 min walk you several others, from local food to Italian and fast food. The only issue, as almost Germany hotels is no AC…I asked for a fan and have it…must have AC.

    We booked a Comfort room and it did not match the photos you find on their official site or booking portals. It was 15 sqm, not 25 sqm. We had twin beds and not a queen size bed, plus the bathroom had mold between the tiles. Not to mention the unpleasant receptionist who advised us that if we didn't like our room, we could check in elsewhere. One of the worst hotel experiences ever.

    A friendly hotel set in extensive grounds

    We loved it. The hotel is a converted fortified house from the 13th century with extensive grounds that made for lovely walking in the Easter sun. Breakfast is plentiful and there’s a good choice of food, and endless supply of coffee. The bedrooms are clean, the beds comfy, and super-quiet. If that was all I knew about this place, it would be enough to recommend it. But it is not all I know. There’s more. What sets hotels apart is attentiveness to detail. And this hotel has that - all the little touches that made our stay so much nicer, they pushed the beds together since they knew we were a married couple, they opened up quiet areas for us to sit and enjoy a coffee. But there’s yet more. Staff are all friendly, competent and always there for you. Particular mention goes to the night staff, Ann-Christin and Erdal, who were somehow always able to find time for a nice chat with us despite having to manage several things at once.Go there. It’s fun.
