  Full of noisy teenagers with no supervision from hotel management.

  We stayed in the same chain of hostel the previous day in Leipzig and had a wonderful experience. We were hoping to have a similar experience in Dresden. No such luck. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk but along a very bumpy uneven street that is difficult to pull a suitcase. When we arrived the hostel looked very tired from the outside. When we arrived inside the staff were very friendly and allowed us to check in early. The room was smaller than previous day and beds were not as comfortable. At the previous hostel in Leipzig, we wanted to play pool when we arrived back in the evening but the hotel staff politely said it was not allowed as it was past the 2200 curfew so the pool balls may disturb other guests. Whilst I found this unlikely I respected their 2200 curfew. When we arrived at Dresden they had the same curfew times as it was documented on various signs on the walls. We noticed a large group of teenagers had just checked in after us and we did comment that we hoped there wouldn’t be too much noise later. We got back around 2130 and from then until 0200 in the morning all we heard was constant slamming of doors, door knocking, shouting, laughing etc. The management did absolutely nothing about it. Strange how we were told we couldn’t play pool after 2200 in Leipzig yet the same company finds it acceptable to have guests kept awake all night by unruly teenagers. Due to this bad experience we would not stay at this hostel again and weHope the management at A&O read this and review the consistency they should be having within their chain of hostels.

  I arrived after dark and [due to my own stupidity] had difficulty finding it. Eventually took a taxi. It talks of 400m from the station but it is probably more than that. When I arrived there was a vast crowd of young people on the pavement - all out for a smoke. Germany is still very bad for smoking! There was a long queue for reception and the member of staff was run off her feed though coping admirably! There is a "skybar" on 8th floor but this seems now to be closed. Drinks and snacks are available in machines in reception. This is perhaps best described as a hostel. It is cheap and apart for normal single and double rooms has hostel-type dormitories [including mixed sexes - oh joy!] Many of the guests had young children and there was a friendly atmosphere. My room was a basic single but was perfectly adequate and clean. There was no telephone nor a wardrobe.There have been mentions of a lack of cleaning but I did not see that. The hotel does not clean the rooms unless specifically asked. This is sold as being a "green" initiative but realistically would seem to be money saving!

  The room was goo, with a full bathroom within it. The location is quite convenient if arriving/departing from the main train station. The only downside was asking for the Kitchen key every time and being asked for a deposit every time, specially when Dresde is the last stop and travellers don't carry cash anymore.

  It was really great. Staff was super friendly and the room was very clean. I got even towels. If I come in Dresden again, I will be back ib this hostel.

  Not so good for a family of 4 adults!

  I stayed with my family. The Room was very small for 4 people. Actually, the room was changed from 6 people room that was originally booked by us to a 4 people room without any information to us! We were told by the receptionist to check directly with customer service number (it sounds bit rude to us), but nothing changes after all discussion with customer service and we should accept the change to smaller room.We had stayed at A&O Munich, Stuttgart and several other cities in the past, it was always simple and good stay, but not in Dresden A&O! The room does not have any storage shelves or sufficient hankers to keep or organize the stuff for 4 people. Also, the cleaning service was not good, no cleaning of bath rooms or toilets in the 3 days. We regret the stay in A&O Munich.
