  Situated in the center of old town exactly where you would want to be. Restaurants and attractions in every direction. The room was good. It was clean and had enough room. For the amount of things in this hotel. I feel I made out on the price. The noise was fine. I could hear the restaurants on the street with the window open. The staff was great. The breakfast was top notch. The gym/spa/pool was the best I ever saw.   Another excellent stay at this hotel which is very well located for exploring the town. Staff all pleasant and friendly and no waits whatsoever on checking in and out and no queues noticed when passing by. The rooms could do with some updating especially as there are now power sockets near the beds. Hopefully on my next visit there will have been some plan to rectify this.   One night stay disappointed

  Stayed just one night due to business trip was hoping for a good night sleep however I had a room over a function room that was in use and playing loud base music untill 3 in the morning which completely destroyed my sleep. Very disappointed considering it was over 200euro for one night. Mentioned to reception got an apology. Couldn't fulfil the basic requirement for a hotel.   This would have been a great stay, were it not for the chaotic service at check-in which bizarrely was still in evidence when I checked out four days later. The reception appeared to be manned by flustered people with "Trainee" badges, one of whom spoke to me very LOUDLY in German, before realising I wasn't a member of a geriatric tour group for whom (it appeared) the hotel had made special reception arrangements. When eventually I did check in, it was with a surly and offhand young girl who, when speaking of me to her colleagues she persistently referred to me just as 'she' rather than starting with the usual courtesies such as 'this lady' - or even using my name! At this crucial point I was made to feel unwelcome and certainly not the valued guest I was hoping to be. That said, the room was comfortable and I was thankful for windows that actually opened. Breakfast was good-ish, but the food on offer didn't seem vary at all during my stay. One good feature was that each table had a little mat which you turned over to indicate whether the table was free or occupied - this was very helpful, especially for a solo traveller.When I went to check out, I was told that the City Tax, which I'd opted to pay on arrival, had been wrongly calculated, and that I needed to pay more. At no point did I get a receipt for this payment and as I'd paid for my whole trip as a unity, I couldn't single out the hotel charges and check what the correct tax should have been. That said, the location is brilliant - the hotel is in a quiet street, but very close to the beautiful main attractions of central Dresden. Moreover, apart from the reception staff, everyone else was very pleasant and helpful.   Very enjoyable experience at the Hilton Dresden which is located in an ideal position for the main sights. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient during all interactions. The upgraded room was also very good as was breakfast. Wi-Fi good, lifts a little slow to arrive but that’s a very minor issue which was fully compensated for by the most delicious tasty filling goulash in the executive lounge. Truly delicious. This is definitely worth a repeat stay.
