    SCAMMED ME BY NOT TELLING ME CLEARLYTHERE WAS NO ROOM AVAILABLE WITH THE CHRISTMAS MARKET VIEW

    SCAM! IT IS THE WORST HOTEL. Please DONT BOOK this hotel. I booked it for DECEMBER 23rd which is today and I called 3-4 times 15 days in advance requesting for a room with a view of the Christmas Market and they kept saying we will leave a NOTE, we will leave a NOTE. They did not leave any NOTE IT IS ALL A LIE A SCAM SO U DONT CANCEL THE BOOKING and when we reached they said rooms are not available with the Christmas market view. I even called twice a day before asking if the rooms with view of the Christmas market is available and they could have easily told me all rooms are FULL with that view because i also had Hotel Gewandhaus Dresden booked and i could have easily stayed there which is a 5 STAR LUXURY PROPERTY but they dint tell me and SCAMMED ME! I was even ready to pay EXTRA TO UPGRADE BUT THEY REFUSED! STAR G HAS RUINED MY WHOLE EXPERIENCE! STAR G IS JUST AN AVERAGE HOTEL WITH A HYPE! THEY ARE LIARS! ITS A 7FT WIDE ROOM!

    We booked online not being familiar with Dresden. We couldn’t have been happier. Located right in the middle of the square with easy access to everything we wanted to see. The fall market was going on while we were there so this was just icing on the cake

    As nice as this hotel may be I need to warn others of my experience. I booked this hotel to travel from Canada to spread my mothers ashes. The dates were changed and when we contacted the hotel they said they had no rooms on our changed dates and would not give us a refund. My issue is when I went to look for a room at a different room I found the exact same room still available. I have never encountered this kind of dishonesty from any establishment in my life

    Firstly to the management reading this we were the ones who paid in euro coins and had the Dalmatian, which appears to have been quite the talk and laughter amongst your staff, who were excellent and accommodated us in everything. Clean hotel which does not charge a fee for dogs, very reasonable prices for the area, clean smartly appointed rooms. The breakfast was very nice, despite my hatred of scrambled eggs, but you could want for nothing. There was a coffee shop on the ground floor with absolutely gorgeous dessert. I cannot say anything bad about accommodation, service, or amenities. We will definitely come back as well as my sister and brother in law and kids who were with us. Loved it

    What a nightmare to get to this hotel when the Christmas market is on. So we had a great idea, call the hotel and ask what they recommend. However, no answer, ring, ring, ring. We had written the hotel asking for a room with a view of the Christmas market. The reply was....if available, yes. We finally found parking and got to the hotel. They gave us a room, but no view. Went back downstairs, and they said, oh, yes, here is a room with a view. What a view! Fantastic!!!!!!! We could open our windows and smell the sweet smells of gluhwein and the roasting of wursts. HOWEVER, room was not really up to snuff. You get one coffee per person for the entire stay. No refills unless you pay an extra euro per coffee per day that you had to go to the front desk to get. The duvet cover had holes in it. The towels had holes in them. And we only got 3 bath towels, no hand towels. We were to share one bath towel as a hand towel. The cleaning staff never replaced the coffee cups or the water glasses. The shower area is a possible slipping problem, so poorly designed. The carpet on the floor we were on (6th) needs to be replaced. I just got a yucky feeling walking down the hall to the elevator. Speaking of elevators, you have to take one to the reception area and then another one to your floor. Old building, but it does make it difficult. I will say that the men in the reception area were friendly, but the women could barely look at us, when we asked questions about getting to the airport. How dare we bother them. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, as there are many options in the area.
