  Great location for Weihnachtsmärkte

  I stayed here for 3 nights on a Leger coach trip. We were visiting Düsseldorf and Cologne.Hotel is well placed for visiting these markets. It's also next to Aldi and Rewe supermarkets, which are very handy for buying snacks and fruit etc. The hotel is big and inside it is tired looking. The carpets weren't clean looking but luckily I'd brought slippers with me.When I checked into my room it was freezing. The window had been left wide open. I like Lüften but this was a bit much. There where radiators in the room, but they were turned to zero. Once the radiators were on and the window was shut it warmed up eventually.The breakfast room was big but it was far too busy. Not too sure how many people were staying but it was in the hundreds. Couldn't find anywhere to sit on the first day.The chopped fruit salad, cereal, yogurt, meats and cheeses were great. They even had oat milk. I looked at the hot breakfast items. It was fatty bacon, runny baked beans and some sort of round things. Not sure if they were sausage patties or hash browns. Not for me unfortunately but they had really tried to provide English breakfast items. There was a table devoted to gluten free items and herbal teas.Staff were pleasant and pretended to understand my German so that was very kind.   A nice 3 night stay in a clean room with very welcoming staff - ideally places for the Christmas markets trips.

  I stayed at this hotel as part of the leger luxuria 4 star Düsseldorf and cologne Christmas markets tour. We arrived around 21:30 but were met by friendly reception staff who had our keys out ready to go. Check in was swift and easy and I was up to my room, 421 on the 4th floor, in minutes. The room was fairly basic but was clean and comfortable. There were 2 reasonably comfy single beds, a wall mounted flat screen tv, a desk area and good cupboard hanging space. The bathroom had a sink, toilet and shower. The shower was reasonably powerful and much better than a lot of the hotel showers I have had in the past. The fridge was locked so I couldn’t use that and there was no kettle in the room, but some were available at reception. Breakfast was good with a decent choice of hot and cold offerings. I ate well during our short stay of 3 nights. The evening buffet was only €24.50 and again offered a good choice. Drinks were also reasonably priced and eating our evening meal at the hotel was more convenient than going out to find restaurants in mettmann. The staff were really helpful throughout and all presented as friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay and would stay at the hotel again. It was ideally placed for the Christmas markets tour tours, which were fabulous. Cologne especially was wonderful and well worth a visit.   Super!! Friendly staff, comfortable and clean room, amazing breakfast and best of all: so lovely for our dogs. Yes we had to pay for them (in 2025 10 euro per dog) but we received a bag with a fun toy, some food, poop bags and more).   Spent four nights here for the Christmas markets in Dusseldorf & Cologne.The hotel is nicely situated between the two but in the middle of nowhere but that didn't bother us as we didn't go out in the evening anyway, were too tired after mooching around the markets all day. Breakfast was fairly good, nice & hot & plenty of it with decent size cups for coffee once you found them, the cutlery was sparkling clean. The foyer & restaurant area were well presented, didn't reflect the rest of the hotel.The room was small & very basic, never a 4*, not a lot of storage but for the amount of time we were there we managed. The room was extremely hot & as we were on the 4th floor the window didn't open. The bathroom really needs to be completely refitted especially the shower cubicle, all black mould around the base & a very temperamental shower, hot one minute then cold.   Stayed here with an organised Shearings coach trip. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere but this makes it very quiet. Other than the bar and restaurant at the hotel, the only other place I saw was mcdonalds a short walk away.Breakfast served each morning is a buffet, with cooked options, cereal, fruit, yogurt, meats, cheese and salad vegetables. The staff were very friendly, and check-in was efficient and smooth. They even put Breakfast on at 0430 so we could have food before early departure. Lovely gesture. The rooms are a little old and tired and slightly worn out but still clean and perfectly adequate. The room was very warm all of the time. Even with heating off, it was very stuffy, like the heat was coming from the pipes to the radiator under the floor. There is a gym available but I didn't use it.
