Very bad check in, good night’s sleep

I needed to be in Germany for a conference, this was the nearest IHG hotel I could stay in. Arrived late in the evening after a beer long trip, to find the fromt desk agent…. Nowwhere. Turned out he was sitting outside. And entered about 5 minutes later. What ensued was one of the weirdest and worst check in experiences I had.Upon handing over my passport, he looked at it for minutes without saying anything. Then he said: “Do you have an IHG number?” I said yes. But no status recognition or welcome amenities offered what so ever. After more minutes of looking at my passport and his system, I received my room key. I was to tired to make a point out of it, but also baffled about the weirdness I just encountered, and needed some time to process it.The hotel itself looked refurbished. Corridors were spotless and looked modern. Same for my room. Small, but it ticked all boxes. Good bedding, windows could open (always a plus).Unfortunately, I was woken up by people making a racket downstairs at 6 o’clock in the morning. No consideration for other guests. Loud laughing and talking. Unbelievable.Breakfast was very good, with a lot of choices. Food quality good as well. All in all a very good night’s sleep. But very bad check in. The grand European road trip part one

The big holiday

The hotel was really good and the room was beautiful, special and spacious an luxury. As well as the rooms being the food was also brilliant. Free breakfast buffet but no AC in our room.

We are staying in this hotel for 5 nights on business travel, since the first day we arrived we told them the AC was not working, room was hot and muggy, we still requested a technician twice, technician never showed up, we are on our 4th night, and AC still not working 🥵
