Ok ish for a night but otherwise won't recommend

    rating26 Mar 2018

Stayed here for two nights because there was a conference in the city centre so we could not find another hotel. The staff is very friendly but there are some things wrong with the hotel which makes me give it a "less than mediocre" rating:- The hotel is next to a busy freight train track, constantly trains pass by and even stop here which results in quite a lot of noise if your sleeping at the back side of the hotel.- The reception is only open until 22:00 and then closes, yes, it closes!- The rooms feel really outdated and the bathroom was as big as my room which was strange (a lot of wasted space).- The Wifi was not working, sometimes it connected, sometimes it didn't do anything.the pillows were too soft and not filled properly which resulted in a mediocre sleep.- The room i had was next to the stair and since it seems that the interior has a wooden construction, produced a lot of noise. Image people leaving at 06:00....Overall i would not stay here again, like i said, staff is very friendly, but that doesn't make it good for me unf. Maybe I am too picky but there are other hotels nearby with beter experiences for the same price.

Not a hotel, just a low range hostel

    rating11 Aug 2017

This hotel shouldn't be qualified as a hotel. First, location: situated 5km from the city center, just in the middle of an industrial area.plenty of noise during day and night, view is horrible. The rooms are dated and small, nothing like the pictures on the booking sites.Don't let them fool you. We found stains in the curtain, spots on the wall.at arrival the waistbin wasn't empty. Some power outlets didn't work. Overall a lack of care which implicates a business that doesn't run smooth. Breakfast was fine though. We paid 60€ for 1 night, which in our opinion is far too much. 30€would be max if it was clean. Personell is friendly, but that doesn't make it right.Especially if they are not present after 10pm.

    Worst Hotel I've stayed in

    rating18 Nov 2016

Well what can I say. If you're after a zero thrills room out of necessity or budget then this will do the job.For me however, I saw little difference than a hostel.Firstly the hotel is situated very nearby the Centro Shopping Centre, so will be convenient for those visiting for shopping. However you will need to catch a bus or get a taxi. The surrounding area is completely industrial, which means large freight vehicles pass through the street constantly. Or you have car garages. Not a single shop in walking distance....which is incredibly annoying as there is no restaurant in the 'hotel'.The room I stayed in was classed as a 'single standard room'. It was tiny, with a single bed. The noise was unbearable, I could here creaking floor boards and footsteps constantly. The hotel is also next to a railway line where a freight train runs past very slowly and noisily roughly every 3 minutes all day and night (no exaggeration). Funny that wasn't on their website. The bed was broken and uncomfortable. The pillow and quilt were stained yellow. The bathroom was large but also dated. The tap system in the shower was baffling. There is no receptionist after 10pm and you have to enter via a side door with a temperamental digital code lock. I spent 20 minute in the cold and rain trying to enter.I was visiting on business and demanded to be moved after one night. The staff were really nice, which makes this harder to review so badly. If you're staying longer than one night then avoid like the plague. CHRISTAAN05, Manager at Hotel Zum Eisenhammer, responded to this review Dear David, thank you very much for your review. We're sorry that you felt uncomfortable in our hotel. As we heard through your agent that you had a problem with the room we offerred an upgrade in another room. I was also surprised that you could not communicate with me personally and talk about your problem. As you see the other fantastic reviews we take care about all clients in all situations. Ashame we did not talk!!

    Oberhausen surprise.

    rating23 Apr 2016

An excellent choice for a weekend trip to CentrO, Sea Life or, like we did, a concert in the König Pilsener Arena. This hotel is located just 5 min away and offers easy acces and free parking. Don’t let the outside appearance misguide you, all the charm is on the inside! The staff was super friendly and we got a surprising spacious room. Everything was spotless and well taken care of with attention to detail. The room offered us all the comfort we needed. Breakfast had loads of options to choose from. Just great! Next time Oberhausen? We’ll definitely stay here again. Price/quality wise; this hotel is an excellent choice!

    Surprise in Oberhausen!!!

    rating09 Jun 2014

I stayed here not by choice but by accident. couldn't get a room in Dusseldorf finally landed in Oberhausen!!!Beautiful town and a very nice small hotel..i would call it a boutique hotel!!!!Very well kept...didn't eat breakfast but the breakfast room and the display were amazing. the lady didn't speak or understood english but her commitment towards service was commendable.Yes, it is little far from everything but getting a nice clean room with a huge bathroom and a nice new building for the price i paid was priceless!!!
