Check room size on arrival - sizes may vary

Stayed for a week in August at the Aparthotel Adagio Frankfurt City Messe. First let me start with the location. It is not in downtown Frankfurt but in a mostly residential area called Westend. The hotel is across a busy street from the Messe (convention center) and the Festhalle, a giant venue which hosts concerts and other events. There are a few restaurants in the area and the Senkenberg Natural History Museum is a five minute walk away in the opposite direction. It is a very quiet, safe and attractive neigborhood. Once you get away from the modern Messes and Festhalle you see many beautiful and upscale homes and apartments as awell as several other hotels (the Marriott is right next door sharing the same building as the Aparthotel but each has its own entrance). The U4 subway is a short walk away - just walk towards the very tall skyscraper to your left across the street where therwe is also a scupture of a man with a hammer and just past it is a plaza with the subway station where you can go to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) the Dom/Romer area which is a must see. As to the hotel it offers studio suites for 2 or 4 people as described on the Accor website. As I traveled solo I chose the studio for 2. Upon entering there was a kitchenette with plates, cutlery, glasses. soap as well as a fridge and microwave - all good. Diagonally across from this is a small work area with a desk, hard plastic? chair and a kettle. However, you have to buy a bag of coffee from the front desk - very strange when at other hotels coffee is included where there is a coffeemaker! There are several outlets here so you can charge your phone and portables - just bring an adapter! Walking down the narrow corridor I accessed the bedroom with a large king bed and a large TV in front of it (no English language or music channels - only German). Any US programs you get are dubbed in German. Note that the bed takes up most of the space here and there is no seating - other rooms may be different. The bed itself while comfortable, had a frame which extended along the sides of the bed making it difficult to get in and out of it. A picture of Frankfurt above the bed added some needed color. There is a nice sized closet with plenty of hangers and space for luggage. In addition there are small drawers at the end of the closet for additional clothing items - there is also a safe which was very useful for storing valuables. There is a large window in the room with a great view of the Festhalle and street below. Obviously the views vary with the room location. The bathroom was an ample size and well lit with plenty of toiletries and a hair dryer. However the shower was a typical European style with only a half partition in the front and no door so be careful how powerfully you set the water to avoid getting water on the floor. One highlight of this property is that the lobby and check-in desk is if I remember correctly on the 8th floor so rooms start from that floor up affording great views from wherever your room may be. My room was on the 10th floor. Also on the lobby floor with a spectacular view of downtown Frankfurt is the breakfast room and the bar. The breakfast while good could use some variety each day but includes all the usual hot and cold items - scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, sausage cold cuts, veggies yogurt, cheese as as well as coffee, tea and juices. Note however that the coffee in the lobby is only available till 11:00 A.M. Wish it were available all day - wish some thought would be put into this. Security is excellent throughout the hotel. You can only enter the hotel and use the elevators and all the public spaces with your key card. My room was clean and well kept but please note that for stays of seven nights or more there is no housekeeping service except by request and then you are charged a fee. As mentioned earlier, room sizes and layouts seem to vary so if you are not satisfies with your room ask to see another that may fit your needs. On the Accor website a picture of the 2 person studio showed two very comfy upholstered chairs, However in my room I only had the desk chair which is not good for extended use. And while my room had all the necessary amenities (except the coffee) the comfort level was rather limited. Other than the chair there was just the bed and the room itself was of rather narrow dimensions. So again ask for another room if not satisfied or splurge for the room for 4 people if available. So in closing, while I was mostly happy with my stay and the price point is quite reasonable for what is offered, I wish the Aparthotel Adagio would offer a bit more perks for the price. Because of the price as well as the nice neighborhood with access to public transit I would consider this property for future visits to Frankfurt but at the same time I would look into other properties in the same area. Quiet room

    rating03 Aug 2024

    - Clean room and hotel- Very quiet room- Friendly enough staff- Decent location: about a 20-minute walk to Frankfurt Central Station (though local public transit is right out front), and not super close to restaurants (maybe a 15-minute walk)- Big enough room for our needs, with everything we needed--plus a pleasant viewGood one-night stay overall.

Clean hotel - customer service SHOCKING

    rating02 Dec 2023

My family and I visited Aparthotel Adagio Frankfurt City Messe on December 2, 2023. Upon arriving at the reception, we were impressed with the hotel but were informed that our check-in would be delayed until 4pm instead of 3pm. Although inconvenient, the lack of customer service from the receptionist was disappointing. Despite this, our room was spacious and comfortable. The refrigerator and TV remote did not work in our room, and even the phone to contact the reception was out of order. These issues were unexpected and disappointing for a hotel with a 4-star rating. The hotel was spotless, which is what you would anticipate from a 4-star establishment. If I were to revisit Frankfurt, I would certainly seek out an alternative hotel.

Exceptional lodgings in the center of Frankfurt

    rating29 Apr 2023

We were in Frankfurt several times during a visit to family and traveling with a group in Gernany and France this year. We were in the adagio for several days, with my wife and I in one room, and three friends in another. I found a mostly-new hotel with rooms with kitchenettes sitting next to the Marriott, with rooms about half the price. I especially liked that we could cook in the adagio and not have to go out if we didn't want to. We could also go down to the lobby and grab a beer or coffee ( you pay for it, of course) in a pinch. Buffet breakfast ( but I didn't eat it) was about 20 euros. The place seemed empty. I asked the front desk fellow if it was new. He said they opened 6 years ago, but for 2.5 years, no one came---so yes, basically, new. Right in the middle of Frankfurt. Highest recommendation. Enjoy your travels. Manuela Martin, General Manager at Aparthotel Adagio Frankfurt City Messe, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and we hope to welcome you again another time.Best regardsAlexander HockAssistant to General Manager
