Location

This traditional hotel is located at the heart of Frankfurt, close to the main train station and only minutes away from the shopping centre and the international trade fair. The pedestrianised area is also located close by with numerous shopping opportunities and tourist attractions points. Furthermore, public transport departs from stops located just 100 m from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1907. The hotel welcomes guests in a 4-storey building with a lift and 95 non-smoking rooms. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. There are a number of shops as well. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand.     Staff-A1. Breakfast-A1Room - a tad small but well worth the price point. Clean no doubt. The hotel is full of character though slightly worn down. But the staff at the reception, bar,restaurant make up for it.Will definitely recommend and use this property again.

    The hotel itself was very good. Staff were friendly, buffet breakfast amazing, rooms clean and in a very accessible area to central station. This was our first hotel upon our arrival to the country so it was a taste of what we were in for. I was pleasantly surprised. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags there, they were safe in a locked room. When coming back to check in we were greeted with a drink on arrival. There was a coffee machine and fruit available all day. Mini fridge in the room but no kettle etc, but that was ok as there were facilities in the lobby. There were two downsides though - the beds were very squeaky and the kids didn’t sleep well when they moved in their bunks and the bunk bed squeaked. The bath tub was very high and my youngest struggled to get in and out for a shower. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

    Enjoyable Stay in the heart of Frankfurt

    Really enjoyed my recent stay at Hotel Monopol. Fantastic to be right across the road from the Frankfurt Main (railway station). I had read some concerns about the area but I did not witness, nor experience, any problems during my 2 night stay. I walked everywhere around Frankfurt throughout the day and night. The hotel was obviously of a very high standard back-in-the-day and, while its aged a little, it still is a quality hotel. Staff very efficient and friendly. Room was a good size and offered all the items one needs. Great variety offered in the breakfast.

    Lovely old hotel; it was once a grand old luxury hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. It was hot -- no air conditioning. They did provide a fan. Afternoon champagne was a nice touch!

    I was overall quite pleased with my stay. The hotel is lovely, and the price was reasonable, considering its proximity to the Hauptbanhof. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly. My room was great, though many of the TV channels didn't work, and the pillows were too flimsy. But at least they provided several. The part that annoyed me the most was that housekeeping knocked on the door and opened it, to come in and clean. It was 7am, and they woke me from a deep sleep. Of course, I couldn't fall asleep again. How rude! I wasn't checked out, so there was no excuse for this. If you stay here, be SURE to put the do not disturb sign up, so they don't walk in on you. Apart from that annoyance, no complaints really. There is some city noise, but that's hardly their fault. Room was spacious. Complimentary toiletries are provided. I would stay here again. Loved the breakfast.
