Not a spa hotel but a nice hotel next to a public spa

    rating25 Apr 2026

The hotel markets itself as a luxury, tranquil spa retreat, but in reality it functions as a high-quality, upmarket hotel connected to a public spa facility—and that distinction is crucial. On the hotel side, the experience is very positive. The rooms are lovely, the food (both breakfast and dinner) is excellent, and the overall atmosphere within the hotel is comfortable and refined. The rooftop bar stands out as a highlight, offering great cocktails, friendly service, and a unique rotating feature that adds to the experience. Within the hotel itself, relaxation is absolutely possible. However, the spa experience does not match the advertised promise of calm and tranquility. The spa area is open to the general public, resulting in a busy, family-oriented environment. This includes noise, children playing, and shared facilities like whirlpools being heavily occupied for long periods. As a result, the setting feels more like a public leisure pool than a peaceful wellness retreat. Conclusion:While the hotel itself is enjoyable and well-executed, it is not suitable for a quiet, relaxing spa weekend as advertised. Expectations should be adjusted accordingly. It is, however, a great option for a family stay, where the lively spa facilities would likely be seen as a benefit rather than a drawback.

    To avoid

    rating23 Feb 2024

The design is indeed beautiful, but we hope that the Romans will come back soon and show them what a thermal centre is and what service should be like at these prices. In an Ibis or a Campanile, frankly, the staff are better trained. The restaurant is really average (no wonder the Romans left) and the staff look tired. When you ask a question, the answer is usually wrong. There are no kettles or fridges in the rooms and no tea or coffee either. There is a machine in the corridor but it has been out of order for centuries according to the staff. The cleaning staff almost came to evict us at 12.30pm even though check out is allowed until 1pm. The impression we got was that there was no boss in this hotel and that it was a cash machine in a beautiful setting.

    Fantastic stay!

WOW! Unexpected enjoyment at this spa hotel outside of Frankfurt, Germany. We missed our flight back to the US from Frankfurt airport. We stayed one night at an airport hotel, due to exhaustion and convenience. We found this place …and have been pleasantly surprised, impressed even! If I find myself in Frankfurt in future, I’ll definitely come back!

Concerns about hygiene during Covid-19 crisis

    rating23 Aug 2020

We arrived at midnight for just one night because we were travelling through. I read so many reviews and each one mentioned the hygiene was great. Even the negative reviews. We booked a panorama room with sofa bed and a double bed. It was a great room. All thanks to Abid who takes care of the hotel guests during the night. We had a GREAT time at the swimming and recreation area (even though one staff member at the pool gave us a hard time - didn’t spoil our spirits) but unfortunately we had to checkout by midday. We were running slightly late (12:15), funny enough the hotel manager sent someone to knock on our door to see if we were checking out or not. We assured the staff member we were on our way. As we were checking the closets and under the beds if we forgot anything, we were shocked to see a very horrible and unhygienic condition under the sofa bed and double bed. It’s probably never been vacuumed or cleaned and that’s very worrying during the COVID-19 crisis. We asked to speak to the hotel manager, so-called TAMARA - not even sure that was her name because she refused to see or even speak to us. Shows how negligent and rude she is to hotel guests. For that reason we want to post this unhygienic matter and make everyone be aware to check under their beds or sofas at the Vital Hotel Frankfurt.

Very clean, friendly staff, great pools!

    rating22 Jun 2020

We arrived Friday, June 19th, and the friendly receptionist explained the rules regarding COVID -19. Guests must wear masks when they are in common areas, not eating or drinking. Signs on the floor and in the elevators remind everyone. We were given "watches" which allowed us to be cashless. We booked a deluxe room with half board. It was small, but very clean. The duvets and robes could use an upgrade. We brought pillows, because we like more than a regular pillow and a "throw" pillow. The mattress on the bed was excellent. I had my own robe and slippers, but my husband used a hotel robe. It had holes in the sleeves. The staff in the restaurant and bar wore masks. We ate one dinner in the restaurant and one in the bar. The food in the bar was better. Breakfast is served by the wait staff instead of buffet style. It was good. We had direct access to the Therme, though not every attraction was open. At this writing, there are no massages or steam room treatments, and the restaurant was closed. The gym and sauna are open. The waterslide was fun. I have been to Thermes I thought were nicer, but I still enjoyed myself. Just wish some of the pools had been warmer. The Therme doesn't appear to offer a nude pool area, although I'm sure the saunas are textile free. My favorite time was in the Panorama Bar, which offers views of the surrounding area. Although the music was not what I would ordinarily choose, we had fun. The booths are perfect for social distancing.I'd stay again.
