  It was alright but we won't be back.

  We stayed at the Henri in downtown Hamburg at the end of April 2026. It is located in an older building within walking distance of the train station. The area is very close to shops and restaurants. We were not impressed with the actual street the hotel is located on. There is a Conrad Hotel directly across from the Henri's entrance that was under renovation which gave the neighborhood a neglected look. The construction began fairly early in the morning and since our room faced that side we were woken up a few times to the sound of cranes and power equipment. We booked the room with the breakfast option. The breakfast was okay but nothing to write home about. The seating for breakfast was limited and felt crowded. Apparently they do not have an onsite restaurant but they do serve some food because of the bar there. The reception lobby for the hotel was at the bar which seemed a bit odd. The entrance to the hotel required the use of a key card or if you were arriving for the first time you had to buzz reception. If you have heavy luggage or are older (like us) there are a number of stairs you'll have to ascend before arriving at the reception level. The room was different which I was expecting but quirky would be a better description. Not the normal hotel decor. It was clean but on the smaller side. It had an older and cluttered feel to it. The staff was friendly and most spoke English well enough that we didn't have to rely much on our terrible German.   Such a cool place.

  Loved this place and would have liked to have spent more than one night. Great location, comfortable bed and room, superb breakfast. But the best thing is that it's just so cool - loads of atmosphere.   We stayed here for four nights and I must say everything was just right. The breakfast was delicious, sometimes a little wait but overall ok! This is not a full service hotel so no restaurant to speak of but fresh things you can buy and bring to your room. Location is top!   Definitely recommended - conveniented and full of character

  Excellent hotel with loads of character that is extremely well located for the city centre and the central station. Even has a gym area (top marks for that!).   Excellent, stylish hotel!

  Our family had a FANTASTIC stay at Henri Hotel, and would happily stay here again. Th location can’t be beat—minutes away from both the central station (for easy airport access) and the u bahn (for easy city traversing). Our room was clean, thoughtfully designed, and felt like just the right combination of European style and American convenience. We had two rooms—the smallest and the slightly larger—which the hotel connected for us. Definitely worth the extra money (if you can swing it) for the slightly larger room with the sitting area and extra table. The hotel provided free bottled water, free shampoo and body wash, and complimentary coffee and tea. The breakfast was amazing—so many options and a wonderful communal feeling. We spent four days visiting the Xmas markets, visiting the Halfen City and Miniatur Wunderland, and had a great time. I wish there were Henri Hotels in other cities outside of Germany as the room price and the distinctly non-touristy, unique feel were so special and really made the experience.
