    100% style, 0% quality - a Temu Hotel

    rating15 Apr 2026

I cannot recommend this hotel. I wanted to like it, I love Meliá properties, and was looking forward to trying their Innside brand. This wasn't just a disappointment, this is a hotel with systemic problems that requires a serious overhaul. It's all stylish design and brand recognition, but low end experience. Details below but TL;DR is poorly trained staff, terrible general service, unusable air conditioning, stiflingly hot room, and noisy. The Unacceptably Bad- Room temperature.24C at night without anything on. Unable to turn on the air con as it is only set to heating (!). Open the window and traffic noise, sirens, alarms. We were moved to a quieter room (and finally able to sleep) but they don't have many of them and only after much pressure on the right front desk staff member.- Heating only (or off) on the air conditioning system. We were told that it was "because it's winter" - in mid April which is definitely not winter. Opening windows works but only if wide open which lets in lots of bugs. They need to allow individual room temperature control. This is penny pinching/ design at its worst for a chain that, as a whole, tries to align itself in the upmarket sector and compete with the big boys. At the very least allow for a "fresh air" option that doesn't require opening a window. I'd hate to be there in summer. - Customer Service.Even before arriving, it took 4 days for an email query about parking to be replied to, and didn't answer the questions I had. Minibar not replenished despite specifically asking at the front desk for our room to be serviced. Staff became rude when overwhelmed with customers. It's as though they've never stayed in a well run hotel themselves. The Bad- Staff responses to issues sound like template AI responses (not surprising, the hotel's replies to reviews are all standard template 'we're sorry' responses - can't wait for mine). Many don't have a good grasp of English outside of routine interactions and won't pass you onto a staff member who can assist.- Queues for the front desk. Understaffed at key times. Check in/ out takes far too long.- Parking fees. €28/day (undercover or outside). It's €10/day on the street out front.- No usb ports or international plug sockets in the room- No privacy for shower/ bathroom area use - better be comfortable being naked in front of your roommate. A simple curtain system would fix this. The Average- Linens and bed comfort- LocationThe Good- Cleanliness- 2 pillows eachI won't be using an Innside again, as consistency across a brand is essential. There are plenty of other better options out there by other large chains. If you're considering this property, pay a bit more and go to the Mercure or Hampton, or save some money and go to Ibis, as they are all in roughly the same area. Hotel Manager, Owner at Innside Hamburg Hafen, responded to this review Hello,We're truly sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially as someone familiar with the Meliá brand. We understand how disappointing this must have been and regret the impression you have taken with you.Your comments regarding the room temperature and air conditioning are particularly concerning. Disappointing

    rating11 Apr 2025

On the plus side this is a clean, modern hotel and the staff are nice. The gym is small, with one of each machine and light weights which I imagine with more than 3 people in would fill it. Unfortunately, this place is a bit of a let down and isn’t great compared to other places I have stayed in Hamburg. The location is not good, nothing in immediate area and other places are awkward to get to. The free ‘mini bar’ is water and a couple of soft drinks. The room had a kettle with 2 fruit tea bags, no normal tea or coffee making facilities. For a modern hotel there were no USBs in the room which for international travellers is not great. The room design is compact which unfortunately means there is no heated towel rack to hang and dry your towels. The aircon didn’t work very well either which meant the room was very hot. The breakfast seemed decent but way too pricey at 25€ per person! Maybe ok for business but if visiting the city and wanting to be out and about I would not recommend. Loads of better places. INNSiDE Hamburg, Owner at Innside Hamburg Hafen, responded to this review Dear Luke,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback about your stay with us. We are truly pleased to hear that you appreciated our modern hotel, the cleanliness, the variety of our breakfast, and the friendliness of our team.At the same time, we regret that we were not able to meet your expectations in every aspect. Uninterested staff on arrival

    rating04 Mar 2025

My partner and I booked for 1 night, Monday March 3rd. We arrived a little early and asked could we park car and have a drink until check in time. 2 male staff on reception took our passports and details and explained to come back in 2 hours, which meant3.30pm check in was 3. Car parked we ask if we could get a drink at the bar, a young girl mentioned it was her first day and could we wait for her colleagues to get us one. We waited, waited and eventually a middle aged woman, in a hurry gave us 2 beers , took 10€ and walked away, no pleasantries were given. No receipt either. We wandered over to the mercure for food and drinks for a couple of hours. Returning to a queue out of insides door to check in. Actually got keys to our room for 3.50 pm. Room gorgeous nothing to complain about. Check out was totally different. I young man was an absolute pleasure to speak to. I think over all the staff need some sort of training on customer service . Rating is for staff working Monday March 3rd INNSiDE Hamburg, Owner at Innside Hamburg Hafen, responded to this review Dear Robert, thank you for sharing your feedback! We sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience you had with us upon your arrival. We strive to make every guest feel welcome and it’s clear that we missed the mark during your check-in and bar experience. I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been to wait and not receive the level of service you deserve. Please rest assured, we will take your feedback seriously and address these concerns with our team to ensure this doesn’t happen again. On a positive note, we’re happy to hear that you enjoyed your room and had a great check-out experience with the young man at the desk. We’re grateful for your insights and will be using this as an opportunity to improve our customer service. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the future and provide you with the excellent service you expect and deserve.Warm regards,Viola Lusga - Guest Experience Team

Nice but out of the way.

    rating09 Dec 2024

Nice hotel but probably better suit to a younger clientele. The hotel is nice and the rooms are great but the location is far away from the city. At the time we stayed there, there were considerable road works around the hotel which made access difficult and getting in and out cumbersome. INNSiDE Hamburg, Owner at Innside Hamburg Hafen, responded to this review Dear 442bf, thank you for your honest feedback and the positive rating of the room, cleanliness and sleep quality - that means a lot to us! We are sorry that the location of the hotel was not ideal for your stay and that the roadworks made access difficult. Unfortunately, we have no influence on such construction work, but we regret the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding. We hope that you had a pleasant time with us despite the challenges surrounding your journey and would be happy to welcome you back on another occasion!Kind regards,Viola Lusga - Guest Experience Team

    Pleasant 2 night stay.

    rating19 Jun 2024

A 2 night stay at the Innside Hamburg Hafen was a pleasant one. It was a work trip for me so it hit the mark. The staff were excellent on reception, the rooms were clean and a decent size with AC and windows that open slightly. The breakfast was good with lots of healthy options. They hire bikes for 14 Euros a day which worked out a great way to get round this pretty flat city! As a female solo traveller I felt safe here and would recommend a stay here when in Hamburg. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Innside Hamburg Hafen, responded to this review Dear MissyFi,thank you for such a wonderful review.Thank you for highlighting our dedicated reception team and the cleanliness of our rooms, ensuring every guest feels right at home from the moment they step in. Delighted to hear you enjoyed the breakfast buffet; our nutritious and delicious options are perfect to kickstart a day of adventures! And yes, exploring Hamburg on one of our rental bikes is indeed a fantastic way to see the city - glad you found it handy! It would be our pleasure to have you return on another occasion.Warmest regards,Your INNSiDERs
