  Awful Breakfast Server

  We have stayed at your hotel before, and while we have generally enjoyed the convenience and comfort, we had an unpleasant experience with one of the breakfast waitresses on our previous visit. Because of her rudeness at that time, we deliberately chose not to book breakfast during our most recent stay.Unfortunately, despite not even entering the breakfast area, the same member of staff was again rude to us on two separate occasions. This was both surprising and disappointing, particularly as we had made a conscious effort to avoid any interaction by not using the breakfast service at all.We believe that all guests deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of whether they have paid for breakfast or any other optional service. A customer is a customer, and such behaviour does not reflect well on the otherwise good reputation of your hotel.

  If you go here, shower at night

  This is a first review after 3 times going. Experience was really bad. This is the third time I go there and, as the last 2 times, there was again some issues with the shower. First time, it was almost cold. Second time, the hot water was coming and going, either you were burning out of the sudden or freezing. This last time I travelled with my girlfriend, I woke up before heading to the office, and there was just cold water and -4ºC outside. After showering (at that point I had to), I went reception and told them the issue because also my girlfriend was in her period and needed a warm shower. They said that they would come at 2-3pm (it was around 9am), and even if I told them that my girlfriend needed to shower too, they just said "when is any of you two coming back?". She needed to shower now, in the morning, not in the evening or at night. After talking with them, finally they sent someone to the room. That person said "it is fine, it is hot". It was at max level, and it was warm-ish and rather cold. After some talking (again), they changed us to another room (my girlfriend with pain having to pack everything to go downstairs so they give us another room). When we arrive to the new room, the water was a bit warmer than the other, but just a bit. In the end, I had to already go to work and she showered with that warm-ish water.That same day, at night, we tried the water again and it was very hot. Next day at night was very hot too, but not in the morning. So, after thinking back, all times I was there, I showered in the mornings. So, it seems that they have a VERY BIG issue with the hot water capacity (probably most people shower in the morning). Note: I go here because it's what the company usually say to take, no because I wanted to after those first two times.The rest of the hotel is okay, but a shower is a basic thing. That must work.   Best place for connections in Hamburg

  I asked if I could have a room on the station side. I love falling asleep with the hustle and bustle of the station in the background. It did not disappoint. The staff was friendly as usual. The hotel has a supply of umbrellas for its guests to use while staying. These were gratefully used.

  Very good except for the aircon in the room

  This hotel is so close to the long distance platforms at Altona Station that you can sit in the lounge and watch your train pull in.Overall it is very similar to an Ibis Hotel. The room was in very good order except for the aircon, which did not work. The window did open, but we had noise from a restaurant across the street until late. So do check the aircon when you first arrive in the room.Breakfast was a standard German hotel breakfast. It was very good.I recommend this hotel to anyone who would find the location at the station convenient. We arrived at Altona one afternoon, made a day trip by train to Schleswig-Holstein the next day, and departed for Switzerland on the final day. All of these trains terminated at Altona. There are also lots of food shops, supermarkets, etc. in the station complex.

  Good value close to the centre of a major city

  We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, which was reasonably priced for a location close to the centre of the city (and from which it is easy to reach many parts of the city, as the hotel is in Hamburg Altona S-Bahn and mainline station). Our room was on the small side, but had what we needed for our short stay. Other rooms, including business rooms, seemed to be the same size. The aircon could not handle the (high) summer temperatures so we had to open a window. We were on a high floor, but still heard some street noise as a result. The included breakfast was good.
