  Great location not far from Dammtor station.   Very friendly staff, good location, beautiful parc in front of hotel. Room was well equipped and had a great shower. Very soft pillows but you can ask for an extra one. If you are a member you get a card for public transport which was a great plus for us. Would stay here again.

  Well the personal in the reception was one of the most rudest i met under my travels! When I let them know that we wasnt informed or gotten any email link when we checked in? We had to find the wifi ourself? And through that we lost 76 Euro on the local public transport! When I said or complained about this to the reception? Their anser was? "Oh he who checked you in should have send you a email?" But he didnt even ask for one? Because he was trainig a new personal? Then I said but cant you do anything about after? Their responce "no we cant oh are you here for a whole week sorry that you bought card for local transport " and then laughed about it! I said it is you fault from the beginning Because its says nothing on your website or hotell.com etc "yes it does" they say" no it dont and then the receptionist sad "oh its only local to our hotel" so know tha staff on this hotel is the most rudest I ever met!

  Excellent as always. Slight blip with laundry but not the hotel‘s fault. Staff friendly and efficient, room well-equipped, quiet and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Lovely to be able to access Planten un Blomen over the road, and be within a few minutes‘ walk of the Alster.

  I have elevated from my emotional instinct to award 2 stars to an objective 3.Lets get the positives out of the way.The location was excellent for access to the Messe and relatively central. The room was sparsely appointed but very clean. The 2 bottles of complimentary water were most welcome:)Unfortunately the negatives.The mattress was thin and not particularly comfortable and only 1 pillow per person which went completely flat the instant it was laid on, offering no support. There was an absence of 'In Room' tea or coffee facilities, which I would expect for £170 per night without breakfast. The air conditioning worked until we opened the window , after closing it didn't work again for the duration of our stay. The hair dryer works well until you apply heat , then it cuts out. Only hand towels in the en suite but they were clean.At reception we asked very politely if we could have 2 spare pillows? We were told yes by the receptionist but these never arrived during our 3 day stay. When we arrived we asked if breakfast was available for extra cost? My wife and I we paid a further € 137 for breakfast for 3 days. When we went down for breakfast the following day we gave our room number to the Matre'd we were told (and I quote) 'The room number is not on the list, you have to pay, this is exclusive'. The rejection proved very embarrassing as we were at the front of a queue of people as you would imagine. Feeling humiliated, we returned to the reception desk, asked for an immediate refund and enjoyed our €7 breakfast at the rather fine Messe Cafe round the corner (where they are also very polite) My wife and I have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and trust me, there is nothing exclusive about the Intercity hotel's very expensive , very average light continental breakfast! In conclusion I would give the following advice to the hotel in particular, to the staff.. (1) A smile costs nothing. (2) A reasonable level of comfort while you are away is nice. Decent sized bath towels, tea & coffee facilities, hair dryer and air con that works. Wifi with workable band width.(3) Making visitors feel ripped off, embarrassed & under your feet does not have them beating a path back to your door. Especially when those guests are polite and courteous to you! We may return if the location justifies the abuse! Ill bring my own pillows and towels though :)
