  JUFA Hotel Hamburg Hafencity – Stay from 30 November to 4 DecemberOur experience at JUFA Hotel Hamburg Hafencity was deeply disappointing and far below the expected standards for a hotel in this category.We travelled with another couple and their daughter. Upon arrival, they were dissatisfied with the room assigned and asked the front desk whether a room change would be possible, even at an additional cost. They were clearly informed that, although the change could not be made that evening, they would be moved to a suite the following day, paying the respective difference. This reassurance was given twice – at check-in and again the next morning.Relying on this information, they left their luggage in our room and we spent the day visiting Hamburg. When we returned in the evening, the reception team stated they had no knowledge of any arrangement and that the hotel was overbooked, making any room change impossible. The original room was maintained, yet it was not properly prepared for three guests:– the girls bed had not been made,– there were not enough towels for three people.The staff member on duty handled the situation in an unprofessional and discourteous manner, including comments such as “I only have two hands”, while addressing the issue slowly and without empathy. The front office manager never came to speak to us. A complimentary dinner was offered but declined, given the level of dissatisfaction and stress caused, particularly for the older gentleman in our group.In our own room, further service failures occurred:– the bathroom sink was frequently clogged,– the hairdryer did not work,– both issues were reported to the reception, but no action was taken,– the bathroom bin was not emptied the day before checkout,– the shower gel was not replaced (the bottle was empty),– we had to search for housekeeping, who did not understand English; a maintenance employee eventually assisted us.Overall, the hotel demonstrated poor organisation, weak communication, ineffective problem-solving and a lack of accountability for internal failings.The only positive elements were the comfort of the beds and pillows, and the immediate proximity to the metro station.Unfortunately, based on our stay, we cannot recommend this hotel.   Comfortable Family Hotel

  My family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 teens ) stayed At jufa for 5 nights end of october part of a long family holiday. We stayed in a bigger room meant for 4 pax with a bunk bed for the kids and 2 single beds for the adults. The room is very spacious with the beds all at one side, a small writing desk. seperate toilet and bathroom, and a rather large closet area near the door to put all our luggage. ( we had 2 medium and 1 large). Since we were staying 5N, I had then placed 2 of our luggage on the closet shelving and opened it up. Only 1 I left standing ( after taking out some stuff) at the side. The room had a kettle, 4 mugs, coffee and tea provided which was great. All the beds had side lights which my kids used. Room was comfortable, large and I have 0 complaints. Sadly there was some renovations happening when I stayed so outside my window was scaffolding as you can see from the pic. That said, the workers made minimal noise during the few times I was in the room and they were working so I suppose the sound proofing is not too bad.THe location of this hotel is quite good being away from the main train station. It's on the U Bahn HafenCity Stop and 1 of the Exits ( take the exit going towards Elbbrucken) comes up directly to the hotel so very convenient. I can't recall the exact U bahn but it's the very short one ( on google maps it's a turquoise? color U bahn) 1 stop away at Uberseequartier is a HUGE WESTFIELD with tons of shopping and F&B options. i went there twice to buy takeaway from a Thai restaurant called SABA DEE. This is a family friendly hotel with a large reception foyer with a bar, plenty of seating, space for parents to put their strollers and I think they provide trikes and bikes for the kids? Or it may belong to them I don't know but I see kids running around and pushing trikes in the foyer all the time.Breakfast is comparatively quite good. They gave fruits, milk, cereals, eggs, sausages, potatoes, oats, cheeses ( quite a variety), cold cuts, pancakes, bacon, etc..about 4 to 5 hot items. Salads, cucumbers, small balls of mozerella. Starts at 6.30am all the way to 10.30am. From what I read on the posters, on weekends and public holidays it's all the way till 12 noon! We took bus ( you can walk or train) from the hotel to Miniature World and other sights but if you got the Munich Card, just take the transport. So getting to the sights from this place is definitely doable. It's not as central as staying near the HBF but more affordable for a family group. Getting to HBF is a mere 4 stops away.If you got luggage, the lifts to get down to the train station is the opposite side from the exit I had mentioned above and in the middle of the road on the median.I highly recommend this place for families who are looking for a reasonably priced accommodation in Hamburg with a good breakfast to boot.   Globally this stay was good but not perfect for the following reason . We faced A huge queue for the checkout (40 minutes) due to a lot of guests coming already in the morning for check-in.   Our family (two parents and two adult children) stayed in this hotel for four nights at the end of June. We had room 321 on the third floor. The room was reasonably big and more than sufficient space for 4 persons. The hotel stated that the room has air conditioning and we tried to use it during the first night (as it was rather hot on the previous day). However, even on the maximum setting the room was too hot. We tried some boost setting, but it was turning itself off after a couple of hours. We probably should have referred this problem to the hotel’s staff, but we just ended up opening the window for the remainder of our stay.The beds were comfortable.The bathroom was of a reasonable size with good water pressure.We have requested good cleaning (due to asthma and dust allergy) and it was done as requested.There is a parking garage under the hotel, but it works on the first come / first served basis (extra charge). We were able to find parking space on all of our nights and during the weekdays there was a wide selection of spaces. The hotel has excellent access to public transport as the metro stop is located just next to the entrance. (In Hamburg, a daily group public transportation ticket is an excellent value for 4-5 adults). We have not tried the restaurant in the hotel (except for breakfast, which was excellent). However, there is a large shopping center and many restaurants within 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel.
