    Exceptional stay – Incredible service from start to finish!

    I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Novotel Hamburg City Alster a couple of weeks ago. The level of hospitality here is truly top-tier.The day before my arrival, I called to inquire about the possibility of an early check-in. I spoke with Ms. Nikola Stoll, who was incredibly accommodating and ensured that I could check into my room the moment I arrived.To my absolute delight, I was also surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful Suite room without even asking. Shortly after checking in, a delicious free dessert was delivered to my room as a courtesy gesture.The entire experience was seamless, smooth, and genuinely memorable. The staff here go above and beyond for their guests. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

    Before you book this hotel, consider these things:- They say they have saunas. But their 2 saunas are only open from 6 pm to 11 pm. So you cannot do a morning sauna.- They have parking for 27 euros for 24 hours. You can also park and pay for 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 hours. But everything over 4 hours counts as a full day! So if you arrive in the evening and leave in the morning, then you pay for a full 24 hours, and not the actual hours you parked.- The hotel has signs by the elevator that advice you to take the stairs. But if you take the stair case close to the fitness/wellness area, then you are blocked from entering the hotel. And then you can only get out the emergency door at ground level. They don't tell you which stairs you cannot take.- There is no lock on the bathroom door in the bed rooms.- The air conditioning did not work in the room we were in.Apart from that. The hotel is in walking distance to the center of the city.

    Stale Cigarette Smell Ruined Our Stay

    Stayed for one night as a family. It was a bit of a walk from the train station (about 1 km from the airport), which was tough with a small child. The room itself was nice and clean, and the staff spoke good English, which made communication easy. There were plenty of food options nearby, and the train station right outside was convenient. However, the bathroom had clearly been smoked in, and the lingering smell completely ruined our stay. What could have been a comfortable visit was overshadowed by this unpleasant issue

    A good place to stay to see the city

    A surprisingly quiet hotel given it is on a major intersection. Very near the U1/U3, so, handy for the airport line and straight to the station. It's more an area for offices but if you take a 10 minute walk you get to Lange Reihe which has an abundance of cafes and restaurants and is very buzzy. With the window on slant, the room was cool at night during 35C heatwave.Lovely touch to be able to pick up a complimentary apple in reception.2 things that might need attention: the lifts are so slow that from the first couple of floors it is quicker often to walk up and down. And my pillow needed a clean as it had that hot sweaty head smellOtherwise, all good and glad we stayed here.
