    Central location.

    rating05 May 2023

Location 10/10A few minutes on foot to Central StationVarious kinds of shoos, stores, super markets, bars, cafes, restaurants etc around the house.Rooms are small but has all amenities.WiFi works very well.Breakfast buffet is very extensive and good quality of foods. No flexibility on extended check out as we are asked to pay Euro.15 for 2 hours.Homeless and drunk people around the hotel makes a lot of noise all day and night long. İf you are staying at the room on street side, this kind of noise may disturb you.

Excellent service for cancelling the room due to a strike.

    rating23 Apr 2023

After checking in and storing our luggage in the room, we discovered that a public transport strike was coming. We decided to cancel our stay in Hamburg en leave Germay as quick as possible to save our trip to the North. The staff of the hotel accepted our decision and gave us a full refund. We didn't use the room, they said. That was more than we expected. Great!!!

    Extremely small, basic rooms

    rating21 Sept 2022

This hotel has a good location, only 150m from the train station. But the area is very dodgy and we did not feel comfortable to walk with our luggage. I have never encountered such a small room in any hotel! We booked a room with a queen size bed, but the bed is barely a double bed size, and the room space is 3m x 4.2m. I went to complain and ask for a bigger room, and I was informed that all rooms booked via an online system (hotels.com), are that size.We had to incur additional taxi costs as we did not feel safe roaming the red light district looking for a restaurant for dinner. The breakfast was basic German with good coffee. What we got versus what we paid for - I would say overpriced!

Basic, functional, clean, central in a strange neighborhood

    rating19 Nov 2021

We stayed for two nights looking for a cheap accomodation with breakfast - the place was super cheap, with a room (adjacent to the lift hence the great deal). The room had a double bed, a cupboard, TV as well as a desk. The safe was clearly too small and only useable after upgrade. Bathroom was small but had a working shower and a window to open. Breakfast was basic German (bread, butter, sausage, cheese) along with a small cereals selection, boiled and scrambled eggs, coffee, tea and fruit juices. Unfortunately no bar or coffee section to spend time. Staff was ok but not everyone adhered to their hygiene concept (if any?), i.e. not everyone was using masks and some of them under their chin. One management staff member even walked by not even wearing a mask). The area is just one block from the central station, hence the audience around the hotel is questionable. Dealers, prostitutes and other doubtful people stroll around and by the hotel, so if you despise that, don't go there. Parking is not included - they refer you to a nearby very tiny parking house which is not suitable for large cars. The location of the place is very central to St. Georg's Lange Reihe as well as to both Alsters and the City Centre - our rationale why we chose it. All in all an acceptable deal since we only slept there. If you look for a bit more in great atmosphere, you may look elsewhere.

Basic and functional — OK for what it is

    rating01 Oct 2020

I stayed for 4 nights in this basic, efficient hotel which has 6 more or less identical floors. The rooms are small and spartan, but clean. Think 1970s — wood chip walls, thin, cheap carpet on the floor, hard bed, a small bathroom with shower cubicle, with a shower head that is very hard to fix in position. The room is definitely below the standards of Travelodge let alone Premier Inn. It really needs a full renovation and modernisation (USB sockets in rooms, new lighting etc) and I believe another Novum hotel nearby has had a refurbishment, which I would have loved to see. However the hotel was not expensive, well situated in terms of transport links, WiFi was easy to connect to, and the staff I spoke with were generally very good. Housekeeping came every day and changed towels etc. , they were good and polite.I did complain as hotels.com said the rooms had blackout blinds, and as you can see from the pictures, this was not true. I got nowhere. I was shown a couple of other rooms but they are all pretty much the same, one was a little better in terms of floor space but would have cost me €15 extra per night. The area is a red light district at night, the transport is great but being bang next to the train station generally isn’t the best part of any city. So there is some noise of sirens, people randomly yelling etc. But the double glazed windows can be fully closed (as well as opened). I never had breakfast at the hotel, at €8.90 few people were and the place looked completely soulless. It’s an efficient, basic hotel if all you want to do is sleep there for a night or two, but I would not recommend it for a longer stay. if you like to spend time in the room and look at nice surroundings and enjoy hotel facilities this isn’t really the place.
