Location

Located not ten minutes from the bustling tourist centre of Hamburg, this hotel is ideal for business travellers as well as families. Hamburg (HAM) Airport is 10 km away.

    Good hotel, confusing booking

    Nice hotel with a good breakfast and room. There is a train station nearby so its easy to get to city center. The only negative is that we prebooked our hotelroom and chose to pay upfront for get a better prize, but the money was never withdrawn. We had a booking, but we we're worried something was wrong since no money went out. We tried to send the hotel an email, the address was very hard to find, but no response for a few days. We opted to call, and met a not very helpful person that said we had no booking and we didnt have a booking number, only confirmation number, but could email them. This time they answered within a few hours and told us there was a booking and we got the booking number. When we turned up at the hotel there was a self checkin which worked nice, and then we payed at the hotel. So not pay in advance as the booking said. So a bit confusing, but all in all good experience. But to be noted by others in case you experience the same.

    We stayed here for three days, we found the hotel to be as one would expect for the price. The rooms are adequately sized, they have a big tv and great wifi. Our shower was great, big with no step into the cubicle. Kettles and extras are available from the desk downstairs, including chargers and plugs if you have forgotten them. Auto check in is quicker than normal check in, but the staff are all lovely. The pizzas downstairs is well priced and taste great, and the local beer is nice. The local tube is 10 minutes away, head towards the Holiday Inn, turn left, then first right. You'll see a road above, go up the stairs, and u are there. The S1 heads to the airport and central, the local station is Berliner Tor. It is not good if you have a disability, the hotel is ok and has a lift, but I would choose another area. There is an Aldi, Mcdonalds and Burger King (which is first) when you turn right at Holiday Inn. The local roads are fine at night. The walk to the main station is 20 minutes, and the real city starts from there. This area is getting regenerated, so lots of roadworks and building going on, the real old city starts beyond the station. Taxis are hesitant to come to this area currently during rush hour because of this. The underground is easy to use, and taxis regardless of who you use, are generally fixed and the taxi drivers aim to get you from a to b quickly. All in all, a good hotel at a fair price.     Best Super 8 we've ever stayed in!

    Certainly, after staying at Super 8 hotels/motels in the U.S., this one was a pleasant surprise. It was a real hotel, quite modern, with large comfortable rooms. There were drinks available from a cooler by the front desk when the lobby bar was not yet open for the day. Cold and hot snacks were available at the bar. There was a pretty spacious, comfortable lounge area in the lobby. The hotel had parking, but the entry gate was not working when we arrived. On-street parking was available for free, anyway. The hotel is about 1/2 mile from public transportation to the city center. The price was very reasonable.     Very clean hotel and rooms. About 10 mins walk from the closest Subway station. Too little parking spots. Nice rooms, accurate size, shampoo and shower gel available. Good air conditioning and friendly stuff.     Good for a short visit to Hamburg

    During our three-night stay at the hotel, we had a generally positive experience. The check-in process was smooth, but unfortunately, during check-out, we encountered a long queue, and the staff appeared overwhelmed. Despite this, our room was clean and comfortable, although we did encounter a minor issue with a broken TV remote. Moreover, we noticed that the gel/shampoo container in the shower was empty.Despite these minor inconveniences, the hotel's location was particularly advantageous, situated only a five-minute walk away from the Berliner Tor station. Additionally, we were impressed by the excellent quality of the breakfast provided. Overall, while we encountered some minor issues, our stay was generally comfortable and enjoyable.
