  Overall a pleasant stay

  We arrived at the hotel around 15h00 and were met at reception by a very friendly and helpful gentleman. Our room was ready so we were immediately able to check in and made our way up to our room which was on the 4th floor.Our room was approximately 28 m2 in size and had two large opening windows facing onto a side road but due to double glazing was extremely quiet indeed. The room consisted of an entrance hall of approximately 2,5 m2 which was flanked on the one side by an open hanging rack, at the bottom was a shelf to put your shoes and next to that was a built in electronic safe. On the opposite side of the entrance hall was the bathroom of reasonable size and which consisted of a toilet, basin, shower and a heated towel rack. In the basin liquid soap was supplied and in the shower there was liquid body wash.The bedroom contained a very comfortable queen size bed with four comfortable pillows and each side of the bed had its own duvet which seems to be common in Europe. Apart from the main bed, the room consisted of an additional single bed, chair, a stool and a desk / table and a long room wide headboard incorporating the light switches and the bedside lights. A large flat screen TV was mounted on the wall. The room and bathroom where generally well maintained with the odd scuffing on the sharp corners of the walls probably caused by customer suitcases and our shower door was missing some waterproof beading so a little water sprayed onto the floor every time you showered.No coffee / tea station is offered in the room but two complimentary bottles of water were provided in the room upon our arrival but no bottle opener necessitating our first trip down to reception in order to get one. This bottled water is only offered upon your arrival thereafter you would need to purchase your own and take it to your room. There is no laundry room in the hotel but the hotel WIFI was good and I managed to stream whatever I wanted without issue. The location of this hotel is excellent, that being approximately 120 meters from the main Hamburg train and bus station. The surrounding area is mainly residential with a number of stores, clubs and restaurants close by and, of course, you have a huge selection of stores and fast-food eateries at the station itself. We found the hotel to be well located for our purpose which was sightseeing as we like to walk and utilise the available public transport which suited us well. The surrounding area is possibly not the best though especially in the evenings / night as is often the case around train stations but that said, we did not feel threatened or encounter any issues with the junkies, drunks or the street people we came across. The included breakfast at this hotel was very enjoyable indeed. It consisted of the usual fair including eggs in various forms, bacon, sausage, and then the continental side with cheese, a wide selection of meats, rollmops, yoghurts, fresh fruit, croissants and many types of bread / rolls etc and, like the gentleman that initially checked us in, the staff in the dining room were really pleasant indeed and a special shout out must go to Thomas who was always exceptionally friendly and always went out of his way to assist us. The only negatives that we came across with the establishment were with housekeeping who, on our second day, (and the second time if you take into account the missing bottle opener) simply failed to service our room (not a biggie as we always make sure that our room is in a very respectful condition at all times) but we ran out of toilet paper which we had assumed would be replaced by housekeeping during the course of the day. This necessitated a trip down to reception with the empty toilet roll cartons in order to exchange them for new ones. The second issue with housekeeping was that even though the room was serviced, the body wash in the shower was left empty, again necessitating a trip down to reception to have this matter addressed (eventually replaced by a rather unfriendly bearded maintenance man I may add !). Bizarrely, for the full duration of our stay at this hotel which was 7 nights, at no time were the drinking glasses in the room ever changed or cleaned by housekeeping. We had a suspicion that this was the case so marked them and then set them up in a particular way each day in order to confirm this. We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Vienna House Easy By Wyndham Hamburg City especially from a location perspective, good breakfast spread and comfortable room so it was a pity that the issues associated with poor housekeeping tended to place a slight damper on an overall positive impression of the hotel.   Lovely Hotel, well situated

  Well placed hotel, 2 minutes from the train station and 1 minute from Deutsches Schauspielhaus Venue. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. We were on the third floor (there is a lift) . Nice room, very clean, and plenty of places to plug in devices. Plug sockets also on either side of the bed, great for being on your phone and also charging. The shower was good. The bathroom is very small but all OK for a short stay. Hairdryer by the mirror and an extra little mirror for close-up. On-wall soap and in shower body wash. Sparking water was provided in the room each evening, which was a nice touch. No tea/coffee tray or kettle. We didn't have breakfast as there was a lovely bakery next to the station, so can't comment on that. Would definitely stay here again. There are some nice bars and restaurants if you turn right out of the door..or plenty of places in the train station.   Perfect for Hamburg Hauptbahnhof

  A clean property which, in my room, suffered from marks on the wall where previous guests had been careless with baggage. Nonetheless the room was clean and very quiet. The bathroom was also very clean, it was very small but everything worked as it should. Breakfast spread was fine. The hotel is a very short walk from Hamburg railway station and there are a number of bars and restaurants nearby. Perfect for a short stay and remarkably good value.   Nice modern hotel for a reasonable price, in an excellent location near the train station and pretty central for all the Christmas markets. We stayed in a three person family room, the sofa bed was comfy enough for an 11 year old. Good choice of food for the included breakfast

  I had a confirmed reservation for this place and fully paid. It was a non refundable payment. I texted immediately after making the booking at 5pm about my arrival at midnight. Hotel policy doesn’t mention anywhere if the check in has any closing time. When I arrived there was no reception, no manager and nobody to speak to except the security guard who couldn’t speak english and told me there are no more reservations and the hotel was fully booked( he spoke German and Arabic and I understand Arabic). He informed me that the manger had left at 10pm and will be back at 9am in the morning. I had to call the police who tried to help but it was nothing much they could do. Finally I had to walk out in the bitter cold of negative 2 degrees and look for another hotel at 2am in the morning. It appears to me to be a scam place. Now I have to fight to get my money back and I will fight for it so that others do not face any such problems in future
