Right opposite to the train station. The building is a bit older and also the interior, including the rooms could use an update. One of our team member had to change room in the middle of the night as there was a pipe break and the room flooded. The entire building might benefit from a renovation. There are two elevators but they don't run, if there are more than 6 people in it or so due to the weight (the elevator would have enough space for 6 people, though). A bit of a hassle when one's room is on any of the upper floors. Also, several issues with the hotel card where they would stop working and some in our team, including myself, needed to consult the reception. The breakfast buffet was rather small for the size of the hotel but was ok.

Don’t recommend

I don’t recommend if you want good sleep. The beds are extremely hard. We requested the quiet side of hotel. Apparently there isn’t a quiet side. Heard people partying until 5am. Breakfast is too expensive at 18€!!We asked for ice. No ice in entire hotel. Rooms are hot. We asked for a fan. No fans. Go elsewhere.

Good hotel, a bit dated

The person at the front desk told us that the Golden Tulip chain bought the older Hotel Reiss some time ago and refurbished it. The result is generally satisfactory, but the room could use a larger desk and an additional desk chair. The bathroom lacks an exhaust fan. On the positive side, the mattress is firm and the room quiet. Front desk service was very good in helping me to print up a document.

Location just near the train station. There is car parking at the rear of the hotel - it's free. It's located about 10 minutes walk from the main areas.Staff were friendly & welcoming. The rooms are modern & comfortable with TV, fridge, kettle & toiletries in the bathroom.Breakfast was buffet with hot & cold food. There is a gym & sauna. The lobby has a bar & dispensing machine for snacks & drinks

Very disappointing experience. Certainly not a four star venue.

HousekeepingFor the entire duration of our stay housekeeping failed to complete the task of making our bed, as the decorative pillows were carelessly left on the floor. The bins were only emptied once, on the second day, by the receptionist. The same goes for the cups - we only had clean ones after the first day when the receptionist provided fresh ones. The two cups left on the tray were not washed on the second day, and none of the four cups were properly cleaned on the third day. They had visible rings and the tea spoons were sticky. The replenishment of tea, sugar, etc., was also done solely by the receptionist.BarThe bartender appeared more focused on lounging on the sofa, facing away from potential customers, watching movies on the large screen television with the volume turned up high, rather than being positioned behind the bar ready to assist patrons. During our initial visit, we had to signal for his attention by moving a barstool. The following night, he was once again seated on the sofa engrossed in the loud television. We decided not to attempt to get his attention and simply departed. On the third evening, there was no bar staff present, so we retrieved bottled drinks from the secured fridge near the reception area. After leaving the empty bottles on a coffee table in the lounge, we proceeded upstairs to freshen up. Upon returning 1½ hours later and then again 4 hours later, the bottles remained untouched on the table.Beware: a bottle of water is €5.50! A total rip off! They refused to give me tap water. SummaryTo be honest, this level of service falls below my expectations for a one or two star hotel, so it is definitely not something I would anticipate from a hotel that boasts a four star rating.
