This hotel is located in the historic city centre opposite the main railway station.     Old Marriott next to central station and old town

    The hotel has a great location but if after five star it is a bit old. Westin may be a better bet.Upgraded to a corner suite which is spacious though it does not have a separate bedroom so more like junior suite.Staff at check in and lounge both friendly and helpful.Happy hours at lounge served enough hot food for a decent dinner.Breakfast at main restaurant ok.Gym has double pulley station and dumbbells.

    The setting: Our son had made a reservation for 3 rooms for 2 nights. Confirmed, done and dusted. Then we called and informed reservations that we only, parents, will arrive one night earlier and wanted to pay for that extra night. The resvn agent said, it would be charged to our son's CC. A 20 mins call. Since the charge was not done by the next day, we called again. This resvn agent said that it cannot be charged to our son's CC. I explained that it was the resvn agent who told us that it will be charged to our son's CC, not us. "Ya, this was wrong" was the response. And he must inform the front desk mgr of our earlier check in. This call lasted again 20 mins now. I asked for an email address, to avoid another long call. She said that this is not possible, because the hotel has no personalized emails. That's nonsense. For sure, the FDM has his personal business email. I said my son is working and has no time for a long phone call. "0h, he can also call in the evening" was the response - 🤔 How about offering that she informs the hotel of our check in before our son's check in?! That would be customer service. True enough, our son enjoyed another super long call.Customer service, customer focus at Marriott Leipzig sucks. Next time we book through an OTA or right with a different hotel company. I've worked 40 years globally in hotels, over 25 years as General Manager, my last posting was for 14 years in Singapore. I am sobered by the service level at Marriott Leipzig.     A slightly outdated, comfortable hotel

    The Marriott is at walking distance of Leipzig Hbf, opened in 1997 and offers 231 rooms over 7 floors. There are a fitness & swimming pool, but no sauna. Furnishings and decoration provide slightly outdated atmosphere. Service is friendly and helpful. Our spacious room had a desk & chair, table & 3 chairs, bench & coffee-table, TV, wardrobe with safe & ironing facility, fridge & espresso facility, complimentary mineral water, and an excellent kingsize bed. The mattress had a hygienic rubber cover, so you sleep less comfortable. The window can open. We had a small bathroom with washbasin, shower over the bath, and toilet. All was clean. There is a good buffet breakfast: eggs made to order, a choice of cold cuts & cheeses, breads & toast, cereals & fruits, milk & yoghurts, juices & preserves, rolls & croissants, sparkling wine, tea & coffee. In the club-lounge between 18:00 and 20:00 you find finger-food and drinks. Marriott Leipzig is a comfortable hotel. Recommended.     Nice hotel apart from the rude housekeeper

    The hotel is located very close to the train station and city centre. The breakfast is good and has long opening hours. But the housekeeper on our floor was beyond rude, he chose to have multiple conversations on speaker phone in the corridor…. One call after another with no regard to the fact that customers maybe resting to work overnight.     An Excellent Hotel.

    We really enjoyed staying at this well located hotel. Checking in was smooth and friendly, and our Executive Room was beautifully decorated and appointed in a nicely traditional style, both smart and comfortable with good looking table lamps. A personalised card from the manager was waiting on the desk, welcoming us to the hotel, and a complimentary half bottle of bubbly in the fridge and two glasses laid out for us. How stylish is all that. The Executive Lounge was clubby, and with a nice atmosphere, and at the Happy Hour the standard of canapés and more substantial food was high. Bottles of table wine, beer and Sekt were frequently replenished at the self service bar by the hardworking and amiable staff, and there was a good selection of soft drinks. Altogether, our evening visits were really enjoyable. Breakfasts were also generous in the rather eccentrically decorated, dining room and the omelettes really well made.The only flaw in an otherwise excellent stay was the basement swimming pool but I think that was because it was being upgraded while we were there. All in all, we had a really great stay at the Marriott, and would happily return. Thank you.
