This charming first-class hotel is situated in an excellent south-facing location on the lakeside promenade, offering magnificent views of the lake and the Austrian and Swiss Alps. The centre of Lindau, where guests will find the local railway station, is only 100 m away, making the hotel an ideal starting point for a variety of excursions and tours. It is 20 km from Friedrichshafen Airport and 180 km from Stuttgart Airport.

The hotel was built in 1854. 6 junior suites, 2 suites, 6 single rooms and 83 double rooms are available to guests in a 4-storey main building and an auxiliary building.     Great location with harbour views.

    We stayed here for one night as a father daughter European tour in one of my older Sports cars so being on tour it was only one night in two balcony rooms. The booking was made direct with the hotel 6 months before the stay. The only downside is the room payment was non refundable. The booking process was easy and I also added one of the single occupancy garages for added security of the car.The hotel room was really well appointed and large (both were double rooms) with a large balcony with table and chairs overlooking the harbour. The bed was very comfortable.We only used the hotel restaurant int he morning, for breakfast. That was OK, not one of the better ones we had on our 10 nights in 10 different hotels driving holiday. But it was definitely one of the better hotels and one of the most expensive.     The room was a really nice size with a good bathroom and seating area however;Toilet seat wasn't soft close.Shower water temperature was very changeable even during a short shower.There was no air-conditioning and on the 3rd floor with only a small window the nights were uncomfortably warm.The bed was incredible hard so didn't sleep well either night.It was a double room but with 2 single beds & duvets pushed together so not very "romantic".Sauna was only open 1 of the 2 nights we were there and the "heated" pool was decidedly nippy (cold).Breakfast however was excellent with a good array of choices and when you get the right table beautiful views out over the lake and harbour. Chandeliers are also beautiful.Location wise it was as good as it gets a right opposite the train station.     Old school elegance here in Lindau. Satisfactory 3 night stay. Good location, breakfast plentiful, staff friendly. Could use a little updating in the common areas but otherwise fine.
