Location

This hotel is located right in Mainz city centre, next to the main train station and within walking distance of the historical old town. In the city centre guests will find restaurants, bars, nightspots and shops as well as many attractions including the cathedral, the Johannes Gutenberg Museum, St. Stefan's Church (Chagall windows), the Roman-Germanic Museum and the Roman Theatre. Frankfurt Airport is just 39 km away.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 199 rooms, including 20 apartments, 88 single rooms and 70 double rooms, located in two 7-storey buildings with lifts. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park (for a fee).     Very good location, very close to the main station. Less than 300m walk.Very easy to walk around Mainz town from this location.The room was basic but fine.

    Pleasant, but some improvements needed

    The rooms and bathroom were spacious and reasonably clean. Unfortunately, there was an unpleasant sewer smell coming from the sink, which made using it somewhat uncomfortable. My room was located on the first floor, and there was some noise at times. Breakfast was fairly simple but acceptable. The staff were very friendly, although service was a bit slow. Overall, the stay was slightly below expectations, but there were still some positive aspects.

    Fairly good place, located 3 minutes from train station and walking distance from town centre. Clean, all in good condition, completely quiet despite next to busy road and train tracks. Bed a bit on the soft side, and a coffee maker in the room would be nice. Tip: sign up for their ‘H Rewards’ loyalty programme and you get free public transport ticket from reception.     Hotel is big and modern, difficult to get to the hotel first time as the directions on my phone said hotel is on the right but I was passing it at the time, took another 6/7 minutes to get back with the crazy road system around it.Room was standard sterile modern,model, just large enough and the functional small ensuite. Hotel does not offer a dinner service and looking at the breakfast area we decided not to pay 20 euro each and got breakfast in nearby cafe.Located by the train station is ideal for pedestrian access, not to friendly for vehicles.     A better experience than I expected. Not the sort of hotel that I would usually use. The online booking was nonideal and the hotel never answered my emails properly. So I had low expectations. In fact, everything worked out quite nicely. There was a secure garage. The front desk staff were really helpful and attentive. Fast, free WiFi (for H Hotel members). The business room was quite large. Cool and quiet. Small shower but the door sealed well. On the negative side, very small towels, and a ridiculously small quilt on the double bed. We turned the quilt through 90 degrees in an attempt to keep our backs covered (at the expense of our feet). Breakfast was reasonable. Minimal seating downstairs but I suppose that is a characteristic of this sort of hotel.
