    Look for a different hotel.

I use IHG often and I will say that this Holiday Inn was not it. The location is in the middle of a coporate park. The room was fine but we were two people and there was only one towel in the room. We did request for more but that was kind of a shock. The worst part is that parking is up the street. I can't imagine someone with mobility issues having to park up the street and then walk all the way back to the hotel. Staff was fine but I would not stay at this Holiday Inn again. Smooth, Simple, Sorted: Staying and working at/in the Holiday Inn Unterhaching

    rating26 Nov 2025

I come to the Holiday Inn Munich Unterhaching once or twice a year as a trainer, and it has firmly settled into the category of “places I don’t have to think about”. It’s not trying to be trendy or luxurious, but it works – and when you’re travelling for work, that counts for a lot.The location is practical rather than pretty. The hotel sits in a business/retail area, just a short walk from Taufkirchen S-Bahn. Small but important detail: don’t get off at Unterhaching – I once did that, in the middle of the night, in a thunderstorm, and paid the price. From Taufkirchen you can get into Munich city centre without too much fuss, even if the ride isn’t the shortest in the world. If you’re driving, access from the motorway is very easy, and the underground parking at around 14 € a day is, in my view, reasonable for the area.Inside, the hotel feels like a classic business property: large, efficient and generally calm. The rooms are spacious, which I always appreciate – especially when I’ve spread half my seminar materials across the desk and floor. Not everything is ultra-modern, and in some bathrooms you can see that a bit of time has passed, but the place is well maintained and you can tell that renovation is happening step by step. A small fridge in the room is genuinely useful if you’re staying a little longer and like to keep a few supermarket bits or cold drinks to hand. For work, it does exactly what I need. The seminar rooms are well set up, the Wi-Fi works reliably, and I don’t waste time fighting technology before a workshop. Around the hotel there are a few shops and restaurants within walking distance, but to be honest, you don’t have to go far: the hotel bar is pleasant, the restaurant is good, and the breakfast is very satisfying – exactly what you want before a long training day. What lifts the whole experience is the staff. They’re consistently friendly and helpful, the sort of people who remember to say good morning and actually mean it. That may sound like a small thing, but when you’re living out of a suitcase, it makes a difference.

    Great stay!

    rating20 Oct 2025

There are so many things that we like about this hotel. It's not the most modern (although they are making improvements — every time we arrive, something new has been done), but here are the things we really like:1. The staff are lovely and helpful.2. The "fitness center" is actually a proper club (just across the street!) that the hotel has partnered with. I don't know if this is a long-term arrangement, but I hope so. It's so nice to have a real fitness center to use (especially one that is open for extended hours).3. The parking is fantastic, with a nice, high ceiling in an underground / lit lot that is directly accessible by elevator. 4. A direct train to the city (a FREQUENT direct train) is just minutes away, making it completely unnecessary to deal with city traffic or to connect many times to get into the city. In all honesty, I think it was quicker to stay in this hotel and take the direct train into the central area than it would have been to stay in one of the city IHG hotels and travel across the city. 5. The hotel is pet-friendly (and only charges a modest fee per night).6. There is a grocery store (and a pet store!) and a bakery a very short walk away. Should you arrive very late, there's also a McDonald's within walking distance. Overall, this is a super easy place to stay for a trip to Munich. We will absolutely be back!

    Okay

    rating29 Sept 2025

The hotel is in a nice and safe area, and the price was good. It was okay overall, but the bathrooms were dirty and not fresh, with silverfish on the floor. I would have preferred normal flooring instead of carpet, which felt unhygienic. The reception looked fresh, but the rest of the rooms really need an upgrade before I’d come back IHG Service, Owner at Holiday Inn Munich - Unterhaching by IHG, responded to this review Hi Sofia S,We appreciate you choosing the Crowne Plaza Charleston Airport - Convention Center for your leisure stay.
