  Pleasant surprise, friendly staff

  I stayed there two days ago, as part of a very long intercontinental stopover and I found it a great deal. What really made the difference was the reception team, especially Adriana in the morning and Eva in the night. They have an excellent sense of humor which I found refreshing and they made sure my stay went smoothly. Location was also optimal, as you can easily walk to the center from there. The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars, was because I do not want to be misleading to future guests. There are some issues, like the lift and the fact the rooms were a bit old fashioned and in need of a renovation. However this was a very small price to pay and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

  New owner/management - poor experience

  For reference, I have stayed at the Europäischer Hot for about 20 times since 2018. My stays were typically 1 week with a few stays up to 3 weeks. My reason for always staying at this hotel was that it was a good value, great location, and the great German breakfast and staff made it feel like home. Unfortunately, this has all changed. My week long stay in February was under the new owner/management and much to my disappointment, many (most) of the once positives are now solid negatives. Gone is the senior discount, gone is the water machine in the lobby, and gone are the table cloths at breakfast. The breakfast is now more expensive and without exaggeration, id the worst breakfast I’ve experienced over 30 years of traveling to Germany. Change is inevitable, but when things change for the worst then it’s time to move on.I shall not be returning to the Europäiser Hof and suggest that people research their options carefully.

  My original hotel was bizarrely locked/shut when I arrived at night so Agoda transferred me to this hotel at 11:00pm. What a relief! I had a single room which was clean, warm and had windows that opened. It was perfectly fine for 2 nights and an easy walk to Marienplatz. It had a fridge but sadly no kettle. There was a water filling station by reception. Decent bathroom. The only odd thing was another corridor door partially blocked my room door. Hotel gave me a souvenir duck when I checked out 😃

  We spent one night here while in town for Oktoberfest. Overall it was a good stay and we don't have any complaints. The location is literally across the street from the central train station, so it's very convenient for coming to or going from Munich. It's a very reasonable stroll to the old city center or to the Oktoberfest grounds, but there are also tram and subway stops right on this block if you want to take public transit somewhere. Despite how busy Munich was during Oktoberfest, we were able to get into our room a couple of hours early, which was appreciated. The hotel isn't remotely fancy, but it was clean and our room was exceptionally spacious for a European hotel. I will note that we were visiting during a cold snap, so the lack of air conditioning was never an issue for us, but it could be if you're visiting during warmer weather. There was a large fan in the room, but the one time we opened the windows we found that there was a pretty significant amount of street noise in this location (with the windows closed our room was silent at all hours).

  Great location. Nice place to stay

  Great location and friendly staff. Outstanding breakfast. Room was clean, faced the street, but was quiet. We paid for hotel parking which we were grateful for, but the parking spots were very tight. Would not let this stop us from booking again. Laundry mat very close (walked to it — Bayernstraße 6). Everything is within walking distance.
