Do not stay here, they don’t care!

    rating07 Jun 2024

This is not a review about the hotel or services itself but a review on how they dealt with a pre arrival situation and a warning to all future guests. I booked with them months ago and the day before my arrival I got notice that my train was cancelled for the next day due to floodings in the area. (All of this was all over the news and everyone in Germany was aware of it)Munich was not accessible via train so all routes via Munich were cancelled without a notice on when the service was going to resume, buses were sold out and flights were incredibly expensive so I reached out to cancel the booking and request a refund, the person who replied had no empathy about the situation, didn’t allow a cancellation free of charge nor offered any suggestions, their answer was “sorry cannot cancel, too short notice” furthermore they emailed me to ask if I was still going on my day of arrival after saying that I wasn’t able to get to Munich. I work in reservations for a hotel so I’m aware of how difficult is to deal with this situations and when it happens in my hotel we always give a refund as we understand that it is out of their control. I wasn’t expecting a full refund but at least some money back , I know they were at lost but I was also at lost paying for new tickets and accommodation somewhere else so at least 1 night would have been appreciated , some empathy with the situation that I wasn’t able to get there when replying to my emails. I got NONE !! I had to come up with a potential solution (I’m praying my travel insurance will pay for it) but it was not my job, I was already distressed with the situation so it shows that the people in charge has no customer service. They will not help you if something unpredictable happens and will only add more stress to the situation so based in that I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

    Nice for the price.

A nice hotel. Nothing fancy but nice. You actually check in at the hotel next door; The Hotel Ambiance and they escort you to the Rivoli and direct you to your room. Well worth the reasonable price. Great service. A very nice breakfast buffet (and dining area) is available for an extra charge.

    Doubt I’ll be back.

It has free Wi-Fi and a working safe. Is a short walk from Harras which is the S/U-Bahn station closest to it. There’s nothing near it really. McDonalds is a 10 min walk and there is a Lidl and other supermarkets within walking distance but no pubs or bars close to it. Also the first door you come to when you arrive for the first time is not the entrance. It’s a few yards up the street. It is attached to a Vietnamese restaurant which when open the smell of the food could be smelled from a distance. The lobby was small. When we arrived we left our bags and were given tickets but when we came back my partner couldn’t find them but the member of staff just allowed me to walk in and get our bags. Handy for us but I could’ve taken any ones case or someone else could’ve done that to me. The mattress was solid and the pillow was tiny and awful. Neither of us got a good sleep the 3 nights we stayed. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly. It’s a sliding door and when we arrived the door was off the runner but I managed to put it back on. Even then it just slid across the door way there was no lock or fixture to keep it in place. The view we had was to a courtyard at the rear of the property but wasn’t much to look at. I’ll not be rushing back. It’s not too far away from the centre of Munich but you’d need to venture away from it for some atmosphere.

    Excellent location and perfect breakfast

    rating13 Dec 2022

Everything was excellent.Few steps from S-bahn and U-bahn stations, 1 minute :) 4 stops to Marienplatz (city centre) with u-bahn. 4 stops to central train station with s-bahn. Only 15 minutes.Breakfast was excellent. You can find Mediterranean breakfast; olive, tomatoes, lettuce, fried eggs. There are many more alternatives.Because of its location and excellent breakfast,I would stay there if I go to Munich again. But there isn’t mini bar. I prefer cold water even if it’s snowing.
