  Convenient and good value

  We were generally very happy with our stay here. The breakfast included a selection of pastries, hams, cheeses, scrambled eggs etc - it was all okay but nothing special. The room and bathroom were pleasant, and the amenities were very useful to us. One thing we would note is that the air conditioning unit was not very effective and it was quite warm the days that we stayed, so whilst it was on, it was not actually ‘hitting’ us and we were still too hot to sleep well. The staff we encountered were very friendly, and the hotel is conveniently close to Marienplatz (to connect you around the city) and many shops.

  Excellent location but disappointing breakfast.

  The best thing about Hotel Schlicker is undoubtedly the location. It’s absolutely perfect for food, drinks, Christmas markets, transport, and shopping — everything is right on your doorstep, which made exploring Munich very easy and enjoyable.Check-in was quick and efficient. We stayed in a family room, which was plenty big enough for our needs, with one double bed and a sofa bed. It suited us perfectly in terms of space and layout.However, there were a few downsides. The bathroom was very small, and the walls were extremely thin — we could clearly hear people in the next room. One night, we could hear a child running across the floor above us until around 1am, which was quite disruptive. The shower itself was lovely but unfortunately it did leak all over the floor, and the towels were tiny. There was also no complimentary coffee in the room, which we found unusual for a hotel of this type.Breakfast was probably the biggest disappointment. Based on previous positive reviews, we expected more, but it was just okay — nothing special. On the first morning, the staff member in the breakfast area was quite unhelpful, although the rest of the stay the staff were much better and more accommodating.We felt like we were placed at the back of the hotel, which meant relying on a very small lift that often involved a long wait. While the room looked fine at first glance, it could really do with a deep clean — for example, we found an old bottle behind the bed.Overall, the hotel’s location is excellent and really its strongest selling point. With some improvements to cleanliness, soundproofing, and amenities, it could be a much more comfortable stay.   Budget Conscious? This small hotel will delight you and your wallet!

  I was fortunate enough to find a room available during the heavy travel season. I booked a single economy room. The website clearly depicts what that will look like. You are fully informed how small it is. As I am a party of 1, I don't need a ton of space (not that it isn't nice to have sometimes). I happily booked this room and it is exactly what I expected. I found the bed quite comfortable and the blanket warm. The bathroom is quite small, but effective for my needs. The room and hotel were very clean. If quality over frills is what you seek, it will be found here. What I appreciated most about the location is how close it is to the train and the Hofbrauhaus. It's the perfect location in bustling Munich. The front desk staff are very polite and courteous. They genuinely care about your experience. I had arrived much earlier than anticipated and my room was not ready. No problem. They held my luggage and offered to get the paperwork aspect over right away so I wouldn't be delayed getting to my room later. I appreciated that thoughtfulness. The price was incredibly fair and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. If I find myself traveling through Munich again, I'd definitely stay here. Additionally, for anyone who needs to do laundry while traveling as I had to, this hotel is partnered with a laundry service who will collect and return your clothes. It is pricey, but these services always are. I found that it was worth the price so I wouldn't waste valuable sightseeing time at a laundromat. My clothes were returned perfectly clean and in impeccable condition. It was clear to see they were handled with care.   Great location and amazing staff

  The hotel is in a great location for the old town, Christmas markets, food, transportation, and cathedrals. The room is on the smaller side but has a nice bed, refrigerator, and shower with a hand held shower head. While it is in a great location, it can be loud if you are in a room that faces the street. With that being said, I was there during the busy holiday season with extra noise, but it did not prevent me from falling asleep. The staff were very kind and helpful, with letting us store our luggage there before check in and taking it to our rooms when the room was ready.   Solid base of operations in Munich

  Location, location, location. This is our seventh visit to this solid base of operations while in Munich which, in my opinion, offers the best value I've experienced in the city. Center of town is just out the front door and access to everything and everywhere you need to go. We arrived at noon and were able to get into our room that early - thanks! Front desk staff were very polite and helpful. The room was compact, quiet, and efficient. Bathroom facilities are fine. An area that has to be highlighted is the breakfast.....Schlicker did a really, really nice job of improving the breakfast offerings since 2020!! Wifi - no problem to check email and websites. Suggestions if you don't like hearing bells at 0700 in the city center - be in line for your first cup of coffee at Kaffeerosterei Viktualienmarkt. Nice car park if you have a car where getting out of the city center can be a bit tricky, but you get out eventually. We are loyal customers and have a great relationship with the team - thank you very much.
