Great location but way overpriced for an average hotel

    rating08 Oct 2024

This hotel is located in a nice, quiet, upmarket suburb or Munich near the Nymphenburg palace and has a number of great restaurants or coffee shops close by. The are is wonderfully quiet and not touristy. For the premium rates we paid for our 2 night stay, the hotel itself was disappointing. The corridors smelled damp and the rooms were stuffy and overheated. The bedding was below par and a bit rickety and the sheets were very thin and stained with what looked like old blood on one of them. The bathroom was basic but the shower was tiny and I couldn’t turn around in it.The staff were incredibly polite and helpful.I had forgotten how German hotels are so overheated when it is a bit cooler outside.

    A traditional hotel with charm

    rating14 Aug 2024

Quite a traditional hotel oozing charm. Situated in a beautiful residential area but with east access to the city centre, the hotel ensures a good night’s sleep. Bedrooms are very clean and traditional with good facilities. The staff at this hotel are amazing. They could not have been more helpful.

Tiny rooms, no elevators, or AC

    rating17 Sept 2023

As an avid international traveler my experience was that of walking into a Tokyo hotel room. We walked in and saw the room and left if that tells you how it went. These are tiny rooms. The hotel is on a back street in a residential area. The staff was very apologetic when we told them we were leaving (it’s not their fault). We had been on a 18 day vacation at 4-5 star hotels and this was more of a hostel than a 3+ star hotel.

    Hot and underwhelming…

    rating13 Jul 2023

Really felt cramped, dated and lower class. We just stayed here (2 rooms for 2 nights). On the plus side, we liked the location in a residential area very close to Schloss Nymphemburg. We walked to the Schloss within like 10 minutes, and the Schloss gardens go on forever, There is a tram car line going straight to the center only about 10-15min away (we tried the S-Bahn once, about the same distance away, and it was a pain between massive delays, a busy and small area and nothing to see along the way). The hotel staff was quite nice and helpful, from finding a hair salon to loaning my elderly family member a fan from their office. The hotel building looks nice from the outside and each floor has high ceilings. And it was very quiet (no noise to worry about at night, but our rooms faced the small courtyard). On the minus side, the rooms were small / cramped with dated and simple furnishings that reminded me of a college dormitory. One room had a bathroom about the size you would expect on a cruise ship. The sink only had cold water and but the shower had ample hot water. It was really hot (90sF) and there was absolutely no AC in the hotel anywhere. We had a single modern window in our room for ventilation. We even had a taxi once where the taxi AC had died during the day. The breakfast was reasonably priced but the weakest (lowest quality, weakest range) of any hotel in Germany we stayed in over a 2 week stay across the country. I could not even located a single tea bag similar to English breakfast. The hotel also had no elevator, and all guests are expected to drag their luggage up and down the stairwell.FYI - it was about a 25 (Uber) - 35 (taxi) EUR ride to the Altstadt.
