    Great location and good value

    rating19 Apr 2026

We chose the Leonardo Royal Hotel because of its proximity to the Olympia Park , our family of three (two adults and one teenager) were participating in the Spartan Race taking place at the Olympia Park. Super convenient location. Walking distance to the metro Oberweisenfeld, the park and several restaurants. We arrived late, and unfortunately there was no hotel parking available - so we parked our car down the street at a nearby parkplatz. We spent two nights (the weekend) and hotel parking was not available for the duration. Check in was a breeze- staff were friendly and efficient. Bank of 4 elevators (serving 5 floors) got us to our rooms - not much waiting despite the size of the hotel. Rooms were clean, modern with well maintained furnishings, smart TV, good internet wifi. Bottle of water for the room, small fridge and safe. Very quiet - comfortable bed and good bedding. We didn't purchase the breakfast - though it looked good - plenty of restaurants in the local area or an easy metro ride away. Overall - good location, good value and a great location for events at Olympiapark and easy U-bahn ride to altstadt and other places of interest. Hotel Leonardo Royal Munich, General Manager at Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich, responded to this review Dear WalterReed,Thank you for being our guest and for reviewing us here.We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back again soon – despite your impressions regarding the parking capacities.Kind regards – Your Leonardo Royal Hotel Team

    Unprofessional and aggressive reception staff.

    rating17 Mar 2026

Due to heavy snowfall, we missed our connection and were accommodated overnight at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich.Check-in was excellent — efficient and welcoming. After a drink in the bar, we moved to the lobby area.Shortly afterwards, a heavily intoxicated guest from another party fell from their chair, knocking over a table, smashing several glasses, leaving broken glass across the floor. I attempted to get the attention of reception to highlight what was clearly both a welfare concern and a safety hazard. The response was wholly disproportionate. A member of the reception staff approached me in an agitated manner, with his voiced raised, waving both his hands in the air, and shouting at me for gesturing to get their attention. The focus appeared to be on challenging me, rather than addressing the situation involving the fallen guest and broken glass.I later approached reception to clarify matters. An apology was eventually offered, along with an explanation that there had been a misunderstanding and a small gesture of goodwill. While this was noted, it did little to change the overall impression. It is worth saying that the room, bed, and breakfast were all very good and would normally justify a strong rating. However, service is ultimately what defines a stay, and in this instance it fell significantly short.Having stayed with this hotel group on a number of occasions, this was a surprising and disappointing departure from the standard I would normally expect. Hotel Leonardo Royal Munich, General Manager at Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich, responded to this review Dear ManchesterMike80,Thank you very much for taking the time to describe your stay in such detail and to share your impressions with us. We are very pleased that you highlighted the check-in, your room, and the breakfast in particular—making it all the more regrettable that your overall experience was so negatively affected by the situation described in the lobby area.We have carefully reviewed the incident internally and discussed it thoroughly with the colleague concerned, and therefore understand both sides of the situation. Based on our review, this was a misunderstanding in what was already a complex and unclear situation. At the time you approached our team, assistance for the fallen guest had already been initiated and the situation was largely under control, which was understandably not apparent to you.Nevertheless, the reaction you perceived from our team member does not in any way reflect our standards of professional, respectful, and attentive guest service. We sincerely regret that you felt addressed in an inappropriate manner in that moment. It is particularly unfortunate for us that this single incident had such a lasting impact on your overall experience, even though many other aspects of your stay met your expectations. Please rest assured that we take such feedback very seriously and discuss it thoroughly within our teams. We would be very pleased if you would give us the opportunity to regain your trust on a future occasion.Yours sincerely - Leonardo Royal Hotel Team

    Good

    rating19 Feb 2026

It is a very good hotel in Munich. Not very close to city centre but only 15 minutes by car. Room is large and nice. Comfortable beds and large bathroom. There is a bar and restaurant at the ground floor. There is also a secure parking. Recommended. Please put one double blanket for a double room not two single ones. Hotel Leonardo Royal Munich, General Manager at Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich, responded to this review Dear Muttibey, thank you very much for your visit and for taking the time to provide feedback. We are pleased to see your general reviews and regret your impression of the duvets all the more. We are aware that every guest has different requirements and ideas. We always strive to meet our guests' expectations and make their stay as pleasant as possible. Please visit us nevertheless again in the future, we look forward to welcome you.Kind regards – Your Leonardo Royal Hotel Team

I brought it to the attention and the staff told me that they had extra rooms but the manager said I’m sorry we don’t any rooms we cannot change you. I’m so shocked we had to climb over the bed to walk to the bathroom, please BEWARE THE SOFA BED is a camp Bed also BEWARE. M ANGER. Is most definitely the wrong choice for the company he actually doesn’t care. I heard so many customers More not him he’s very cold and not a warm guy . Hotel Leonardo Royal Munich, General Manager at Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich, responded to this review Dear Venture,Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sincerely sorry that your stay did not meet the level of comfort and care our team strives to provide. We understand how important a restful and well-arranged sleeping situation is, especially when traveling with family. We have taken note of your comments regarding the bed configuration and room layout. However, the triple room with the sofa bed that you received corresponds to the description of the room category you selected. We regret that we were unable to offer a different category on site, such as a Deluxe room, as everything was fully booked. We are sorry that you did not feel well supported after your conversations with our team. Our goal is to provide attentive and courteous service at all times, and we are genuinely disappointed that this was not reflected in your experience.Thank you for describing your impressions; your feedback has already been discussed with the team.We hope to welcome you again in the future and to provide the consistent comfort and service that characterize a stay at Leonardo Royal Munich.Best regards - Your Leonardo Royal Hotel Team

    Unfortunately, very disappointing

    rating11 Jan 2026

This hotel was part of a tour group itinerary. Bathroom floodsAircon too hotKing bed was good and is a twin in disguiseBathroom door translucent, so no bathroom privacy and the door doesn’t even close properly.Shower door doesn’t close, and the shower head either faces the side wall or the shower door! Eeek!!Grumpy male servers at omelette station who act incredibly resentful to be asked anything by my husband! No writing pad in room.At the tour dinner hosted at this hotel, there were No lactose free desserts at buffet dinner. And no alternatives were offered when staff were asked, despite lactose free alternatives being offered in the a la carte menu. Coeliac daughter had to just be satisfied with potatoes and vegetables for her main meal! Not good enough all round except for the bed! Hotel Leonardo Royal Munich, General Manager at Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich, responded to this review Dear frizzbear2015,Thank you very much for sharing your detailed feedback with us following your stay at the Leonardo Royal Munich. We are sincerely sorry to learn that your experience did not meet what we strive for as a comfortable and smooth stay for every guest. We acknowledge your perception of the room features and overall comfort. Unfortunately, we are unable to reconstruct the booking and therefore the room number using the name you provided. Please do not hesitate to inform us of any discrepancies on-site, as we will be happy to find a quick solution. We also regret that the interactions at breakfast were not perceived as welcoming. Warm, attentive service is central to our standards, and we aim for consistently polite hospitality in all areas.Regarding the food, we understand how important it is for guests with dietary requirements to feel well cared for. Our team values offering thoughtful recommendations and appropriate options. It is important to us to be informed in advance about such matters so that our chef can incorporate them into their specific buffet planning. We are also in this case pleased to receive information or questions on-site, as we are of course able to accommodate spontaneous requests. This way, your daughter could enjoy a dessert, and the lasting negative impression you left with would hopefully not have remained. We are grateful that you highlighted the quality of the bed and hope that, despite the shortcomings you experienced, there were moments of peace.Thank you again for taking the time to share your experiences. We hope for the opportunity to better satisfy you on your next visit to Munich.Best regards - Your Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich
