    Great Location, a few minutes' walk from Marienplatz. Nothing fancy but it is all there, even slippers. Friendly reception staff, very smooth check in and check out (also available in the app by I never quite know what there is to gain by using that). The room is furnished with the typical Accor-style modular furniture, all practical, bed good, minibar with a selection of free drinks, including a beer! Doors slam shut quite noisily, I cannot understand why there are so few hotel doors that (automatically) shut quietly.     If you're looking for great value in the heart of Munich, look no further than the Mercure Hotel Munich Altstadt. This place really delivers on all the essentials.The location is hard to beat — right in the city center, with major shopping streets and a fantastic selection of restaurants just minutes away on foot. Tram stops are conveniently close by, and the main train station is only about a 15-minute walk, making it incredibly easy to get around the city.The rooms are on the smaller side, but they've been recently upgraded and are smartly designed and very practical — you really don't feel like anything is missing. For a solo traveler, the space is absolutely perfect. If you're traveling as a couple for an extended stay, it's worth keeping the room size in mind, but for shorter trips it's more than adequate.And the breakfast — genuinely fantastic. A great way to start the day before heading out to explore everything Munich has to offer.Overall, excellent value for money in a prime location.     Excellent hotel. Great location. You can walk from the train station but it's a bit of a hike if you have luggage. Central to the markets and old town area. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The rooms were comfortable and clean and well appointed. Breakfast was exceptional. There is a lot of street noise but closing the windows shut it all out. Staff was exceptional. Would definitely stay here again or at another of their properties.
