Stay away from- cheap but not even worth that

    rating16 May 2026

Amongst the worst hotels I have stayed in 2026 (travel a lot…) and potentially the worst across Europe ever. Unfriendly staff at reception and breakfast. The gym is a real joke. There is a weight bench but no weights….the treadmills are both dangerous. The hotel is extremely dated which isnt the problem. But even the fire exit door is falling apart….feels not safe at all. The breakfast is noisy and in the basement. Food is ok. Coffee average. Floor outside was super sticky…and I had plastic parts in my müesli. We also used the conference facilities which are not ideal and need an upgrade. The Hotel isnt central at all and there is not much around to do nor restaurants. The only good thing was that the bed was clean and comfortable…but unfortunately the rooms are very noisy from neighbours. Clearly not a place to recommend nor to return to.

An unremarkable hotel — nothing special, nothing terrible.

Business hotel far from the city center, about a 15-minute drive from the main square. Friendly staff. Clean rooms, but the bed was uncomfortable, with a mattress that was too soft and squeaky. We didn’t have breakfast because €40 per couple seemed too expensive. Car parking in the garage costs €12; overall quiet.

Great location to use as a comfortable base for exploring Munich and the surrounding area

    rating30 Jul 2025

We stayed for a week and everything about our stay at this hotel was perfectly decent. The location, a short walk from the U-bahn, is ideal for using as a base for attractions in the city centre and a short walk in the opposite direction leads to a coffee shop/ bakery and a couple of restaurants. The staff were all friendly and helpful, 24hr reception is useful for early or late check-in/out. The onsite restaurant, Caesar's, was also decent and convenient with, again, very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast offering was extensive, lots of fruit and veg plus the usual German options, something for everyone!I knocked off one star for two reasons. 1- The air-conditioning being a bit weak. We were lucky that the weather wasn’t overly hot for us and we had a fan but if it had been hotter weather we would have struggled and 2- I also advise having the torch on your phone available if you park in their basement car park, it’s pitch black down there and they currently have no lighting. Overall though, staying here was a positive experience and gave us a comfortable place to rest our heads while visiting the city and using a hire car to explore the area.

    Great Stay & Highly Recommended!

    rating16 Apr 2025

Stayed at the Grand Hotel Palladium during our 10 day visit at Munich (December). Despite the mixed reviews, we had a great stay and the whole experience was a very positive one!Check in and check out were smooth and efficient. Staff were always polite and welcoming. As a family of 4, the room was quite large and spacious and had everything one usually finds/expect. Room was clean, warm, had ample furniture (sofas, etc) and a good sized decent bathroom (shower). Bed was also large and ok in terms of comfort.Breakfast was also good and varied. Nothing extraordinary but very decent. The hotel’s restaurant, on the other hand, was simply amazing. Great ambience, delicious food, very nice staff and good prices for the great quality of food provided. Even if staying outside the hotel, a visit to Restaurante Caesars is a must! Location is also great, literally 3-5 mins walk to the metro which gets you directly to Marienplatz in approx. 20 mins. It’s also great for other stops (e.g. Hellabrunn Zoo) or for railway changes. Supermarkets (e.g. Lidl) and other stores are also within short walking distances. So, if you’re looking for a very good hotel in Munich which is decently priced, with amazing food offered by the in-house restaurant and is well connected to the city centre, then the Grand Hotel Palladium would be an excellent choice and highly recommended!
