    Felt cheated at Roomers

    rating02 Mar 2026

I stayed at Roomers Munich in Feb. I was aware at the time of making reservation that the hotel is undergoing renovation. I have stayed in dozens of hotels which are undergoing renovation, with minimal to slight inconvenience to guests. But at Roomers Munich, the situation was different. The hotel is in a mess. And that they still sell rooms during this renovation at Eur 230/night is not just irresponsible, but also immoral. It just shows the greed of the management, with 0 care for guests comfort. Even after the hotel is renovated, I will never stay in Roomers again, as to my mind, a greedy & irresponsible management is just so not cool. Roomers Munich, Sonstige at The Dean Munich, Autograph Collection, responded to this review Dear AbhijeetT74,Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay at Roomers Munich. I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment and the inconvenience caused by the renovation during your visit. A trendy hotel with a few problems

    rating02 Oct 2025

We booked this hotel through American Express. Although this is not a Fine Hotels and Resorts property, the offer we got gave us all of the regular benefits of the Fine Hotels and Resorts program - upgraded room, free breakfast, late checkout and US$100 credit at the hotel. Were it not for some of those benefits I don't know that I would have been as happy with our stay. The location of the hotel is not the best but it is not terrible. It is on a busy road and there is nothing of interest to a tourist in the immediate vicinity. It is a 500m flat walk to the nearest train station, Donnersbergerbrücke. From this station you can get pretty much anywhere you need in Munich, including directly to the airport. What we found more convenient was the tram stop at the door of the hotel. The trams were quick and frequent. Our room was spacious and well appointed but it wasn't clean. The room is dark with a lot of black. The poor lighting meant that the cleaner was not able to see so much accumulated dust including where a previous guest had written 'Schmutzig' and the English translation 'Filthy' in the dust above the toilet (see picture). It takes a long time for this much dust to accumulate so many cleaners would have walked past this over a period of months. We used the gym at the hotel which is located in the basement. It was reasonable quality with a good selection of equipment - it would benefit from some heavier weight plates and dumbbells but we were not complaining about it.The breakfast at the hotel is exceptionally good with a good selection of high-quality options as well as options made to order. The breakfast was our favourite features of the hotel and we had it included through the American Express offer. In the evening the restaurant is a Japanese restaurant, Izakaya. We ate there one evening. It is a nice restaurant with a good vibe and although the quality of the food was good, the prices were obscenely high for what it was. For two people it was 200 Euro for two courses and two glasses of wine. We were still a bit hungry when we left, filling up on the big jars of sweets in the foyer. It wasn't a bad experience but I don't know I would seek out this hotel again when I'm next in Munich

Hip vibe, good food, but still working out the kinks

    rating01 Oct 2025

Giving this a 4-star rather than a more deserved 3+, since during our stay, the hotel was in the midst of a renovation, so this may have affected the ambience of the public areas. Luckily, construction was not especially visible or audible. On the plus side, the overworked front desk staff were extremely warm, but the tiny, frantic and harried nature of the reception and lobby area at pretty much all times was a negative during our stay. The room was large and very nicely appointed. But the new design scheme, including in the bathroom and dressing area, is extremely dark - black on black - so while it was "sexy" (as marketed) it was also impractical at all times of day and night if you actually wanted to see how you looked in the mirror. Dining room: the breakfast selections (both prepared warm food and large buffet) were outstanding, although the well-meaning young staff seemed rather disorganized. At night the Izakaya restaurant seemed to attract a pretty hip and well-heeled crowd, and the quality of the sushi meal we had was very high (priced accordingly). Overall the hotel is going for a young Hollywood vibe (literally, photos of posing models line the walls) but hasn't quite got its polish down yet. Location tip: despite being located one street away from the Central station tracks, the hotel is a lengthy walk from the main entrance to the Hauptbahnhof (20 minutes with luggage)...although the S-Bahn and some regional trains may stop at Donnersbergerbrücke stop, which is quite a bit closer to the hotel, and 2 city tram lines do run right in front of the hotel, which is convenient. Roomers Munich, Other at The Dean Munich, Autograph Collection, responded to this review Dear PLS-SFO,Thank you very much for sharing your detailed feedback and for rating your stay with us. We truly appreciate your understanding as we are currently in the midst of a renovation phase aimed at enhancing both our public areas and guest experience.I’m delighted to hear you enjoyed the room size, design details, and your dining experiences at both breakfast and Izakaya. At the same time, I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences caused by the temporary limitations and the busy atmosphere at the reception.Your observations are very valuable to us and will help us fine-tune our service and design details as we move forward. We hope to welcome you back once our renovations are complete, so you can fully experience the polished Roomers vibe we strive for.Kind regards,Jasmin HornbergerQuality Manager

    Find another hotel

    rating25 Sept 2025

Omg I have never seen a worse hotel. Everything is literally black. You have the equivalent of a 25-40 watt light bulb in the bathroom. We did not book this hotel, our tour company did. Air did not work, sink faucets did not work correctly, shower temperature knob would not turn so water was scalding you. Finally told them we need a new room. In the new room, at least everything worked. Window seal has a hole in it so you could hear all the noise from the street. The following morn, we learned that other couples in our group had the same prob with air and shower hot water. They claim this hotel is only 7 years old. No way could so many things be broken in just 7 years. Maybe they did a remodel 7 years ago. But if it’s really 7 years, why would the designer use black for literally everything and 1970’s shag rugs. The pics say it all. The only good thing was the breakfast. Awesome food. I learned that they are closing after October for a complete renovation. Yet only 7 years old…hmmm. TripAdvisor does not allow videos to be uploaded so I took a few screenshots off the room video so sorry for the lack of quality but the goal is to show how black everything is. Roomers Munich, Other at The Dean Munich, Autograph Collection, responded to this review Dear JRO,Thank you very much for sharing your detailed feedback and for taking the time to let us know about your experience. We sincerely regret that your stay did not meet expectations and that you encountered so many inconveniences, from technical issues in your first room to the overall design and atmosphere not being to your liking. This is far from the standard of comfort and quality we aim to provide. As you have rightly noted, we are in process of a complete renovation of the hotel and we are committed to ensuring that future guests enjoy a much higher standard of both functionality and design. We are pleased that you were able to enjoy our breakfast, and we very much hope you will give us the opportunity to welcome you again once our renovations are complete, so you can experience the improvements firsthand.SincerelyJasmin HornbergerQuality Manager

No Customer Service for Bonvoy Member

    rating17 Sept 2025

We are a Bonboy Gold member. We accidentally booked 3 rooms (only needed 2) cancelled the second room w week before we arrived. Went to checkin and the front desk and room director stated we would have to pay $800 cancellation fee for a $100 one night room. No customer service for a GOLD member. They made no attempt to try and resolve the situation. If this is how Marriott treats their members that frequent their properties, there’s a huge issue. This hotel does not represent the Marriott brand very well.
