    AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOIDThis hotel is a nightmare if you want a decent night’s sleep. They say they have air conditioning but it’s a lie, as the system is configured to fan only and cannot chill the rooms. Which when it’s 24 degrees outside poses a problem. We have been forced to open the window, but the street noise here is insane, people drinking and shouting below until 1am and the tram noise is really loud. The receptionist did not care. Absolutely horrendous time trying to sleep. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID

    A good value for money city hotel

    The hotel was good value for money. The room was cleaned daily and the bathroom was immaculate. There was a rainfall shower and normal overhead shower. Shower gel was provided as was shampoo/conditioner. Towels were changed daily if you wished.The room was on the smaller side but this is expected for a city hotel. There was a mini fridge for storing drinks etc, but no electric kettle/ drink making facilities as described on Expedia. Check in was straightforward and the staff friendly.The location was ideal for travelling into the city centre with a tram stop outside the front. Cons:- The room was extremely hot with no obvious way of turning the heat down at night. We slept with the window open and accepted the tram/ traffic noise instead, but it would be good if there was the option to cool the room internally if needed.- The pillows are on the softer side but I think you can ask for alternative ones if needed.

    Disappointing for a hotel having regular guests from EPI and EPO on business travel. Hygiene in rooms below standard for what you usually experience in Germany (even the laundry room which was visible in the corridor was messy with towels supposedly clean lying on the floor) while the toilet bowl was obviously not sterilised. Lady at the reception (I think the Portuguese lady) marginally rude and bad mannered, something observed in several visits I had in this hotel.

    We had a family room - two rooms next to eachother but separated by a corridor and heavy doors so not convenient. Loud - you could really hear the street noise and trams/trains. The room smelt like stale cigarette so despite it being winter we had to have the windows open. The night time receptionist was nice but the day one just blunt and unfriendly. The restaurant was good but quite expensive. You can probably do better.

    Never again. The reception staff were grumpy, unhelpful and attempted to slip in an overcharge for car parking when we did not have a car. Also the check-in process was extremely clunky. I would suggest the receptionist was more suited to a job as a prison officer than one greeting guests in a hotel.The breakfast was average at best. The so-called hot buffet was barely lukewarm and the restaurant staff were less than friendly.Rooms were very clean and quiet but extremely small. The reception area was also very small as was the lift which could lead to long delays. The first smile we received from any member of the hotel staff was when we were checking out after three days.The hotel IS very handy to the Hauftbannhoff, but a good walk from the old town. Don't expect to get a night-cap in the bar before bed as the bar closes early - even on weekends.
