Poor checkin experience, unclean room. Nice location, friendly bar / restuarant staff. Bring your own coffee.

    rating16 Nov 2025

The restaurant and bar staff were awesome, very accommodating. We arrived at 1:20pm, and their lunch buffet was finishing in 10 mins. They provided us with access, and charged us 11.50EUR each for lunch, the manager gave us complementary water. The check-in experience wasn't great, staff insisted we join the membership program (am already a member) so we can get a one time joining benefit of early check in. We had returned to the front desk after lunch and it was now 2:35pm. The lady at the desk told us that she knew what rooms we have (they were ready), but couldn't let us check in until 3pm. And wanted us to wait in the lobby for 25 mins. It transpires that our rooms were available, but they were going to make us wait 25 mins in the lobby. We'd both arrived in Germany on international flights that morning, and were exhausted. We had to ask for a manager to be able to check in 25 mins early. We were told that it wouldn't be fair on other guests - I'm unsure as to the logic of this statement. This is in contrast to other hotels were the staff have been accommodating and if the room was available allow me to check in. It is really helpful for international travelers. The room I got wasn't great. There were stains and marks on the velvet effect head board above my bed. The toilet seat in the bathroom was a white plastic seat with what looked like a pee stain at the back of it - it was yellowed. Overall the room and the bathroom looked dated and old and in need of an update, and a good clean. As shown in some of the photos on this site already in some of the bathrooms, and specifically in the room I was assigned, the shower head pointed directly at the shower screen. This means you've very little space to place yourself under the shower when washing, additionally, and most dangerously, the water blasts at the shower screen and escapes the seal at the bottom. The water pours onto the floor. I used two towels to attempt to dry the floor - I didn't want to slip on a wet floor as I exited the bath. I'd consider this a safety issue. They provided coffee facilities, a nespresso machine with small pods. But just 3 coffee pods, with a note explaining that if we wanted more we could pay for more, and order via a QR code. This seemed rather cheap. In other hotels you can contact the front desk for extra coffee, if you need some. My advice, bring your own coffee if you are staying longer than a day or two.I stayed for two nights. The hotel room was not serviced. The desk staff did not inform me that there would be no room service. I noticed when I arrived back at my room around midnight, I was too tired to contact the staff, and honestly, after the unwelcome check in experience, didn't feel like going to talk to them about the room. The checkout experience was great, staff were friendly, and ordered a taxi for us. I just wish they had been that friendly when we checked in, and the rooms had been nicer. The location of the hotel was great, right beside a park, and I really did enjoy being able to get out into the park for an early morning run. I just wish the rooms and check in experience had been nicer.

Comfortable stay with good breakfast, but service at the bar fell short

    rating09 Aug 2025

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Hotel Mercure in Nuremberg. The room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast selection was very good—plenty of fresh options to start the day. Unfortunately, the experience at the bar was disappointing. The bartender was not friendly, which really stood out compared to the otherwise warm and professional service from the rest of the staff. With some improvement in hospitality at the bar, this could have been an excellent stay.

    Awful standard and service

    rating10 Mar 2025

This is an old business hotel with heavy signs of usage. Ripped furniture etc. worst of all there is no customer service. Not only do they not clean your room (???) using the excuse of being green (you have to specifically ask for it the day before) but they also take forever with any request as simple as fresh towels (since they did not clean the room). Disgrace and disaster. Aboid.

    A life saving staff

    rating27 Jun 2024

Our family was recommended this hotel by another fully booked hotel. We ended up at Messe after falling ill on a day trip to Nuremberg. The staff was beyond helpful and accommodating. We had none of our personal items, and we were offered phone chargers, tooth paste, etc. They were available at all hours for us, very kind, very helpful. The room itself was comfortable, and access to the hotel was easy. Very blessed by this location.
