  First, the positives - a clean hotel in a central location with a good breakfast. Some of the staff were very helpful, especially when we checked in and realized we’d inadvertently booked a special package we didn’t want. The woman working helped us unwind it and we agreed on an alternative rate. The negative - upon departure, after we’d paid the agreed rate the evening before, the hotel manager insisted we owed more - 33 Euros for 2 breakfasts. When we tried to explain, she started yelling at us and threatened to call the police. She wouldn’t even let me return to the room to get the paper with the agreed rate details. My husband and I were so shocked that we paid and left. This is the first time we’ve left a negative review, but hope to spare others this sort of treatment.

  Adorable hotel, very friendly staff

  Loved our stay at Hotel Elch! The staff are super friendly and helpful without feeling like stodgy hotel staff. We stayed in Room 1 that was on the first floor and it was perfect for two nights. So cozy and cute, felt authentic to the area (very close to the castle in old town). Wifi worked decently and had everything we needed (though there wasn't a kettle, but not major). The location is really the star though, so close to the castle, the christmas market and the main pedestrian walking area within the city walls. I will say, this is not a fancy hotel, its great but if you are looking for luxury look elsewhere. Pillows are a bit flat, and we heard a bit of noise transfer from throughout the building as it is an old building! Would 100% recommend.   helpful reception staff who knows all the best places…

  We chose this place because we wanted somewhere central but with a car park - we were on the way home from a holiday and had the car full of camping equipment. Charming hotel in a beautiful old building, tastefully renovated. We thought it was good value for money too. Very friendly staff - we particularly loved the ice cream parlour recommendation when we arrived!   Overall had a very good experience! The hotel is located in the old city and a stone’s throw from the Christmas Market, however without being in the middle of the noise. We stayed in the fourth floor apartment, which had an amazing view of the city roof tops and churches. It was very clean, warm, and comfortable. Unfortunately the bathroom smelled heavily of methane/sulfur - perhaps plumbing issues, given the age of the building. We had also booked two rooms in the complex, but they had to move one of our rooms to their sister hotel due to water damage. Overall a lovely family-owned/botqiue hotel though.

  Great boutique hotel in the perfect spot!

  This hotel is a gem in the Alt stadt of Nuremberg. The location is perfect among the tiny streets of the city. Close to everything. Rooms had very good a/c and were spacious. Bathroom shower was tight and bathroom was smallish but that did not bother us. Breakfast was good. Great stay overall! The kids considered it a top hotel out of the 8 we stayed in during our European visits!
