    An Elsayed employee shouts at guests during check-in (I recorded it for the hotel management), then waves them off to the elevator, calling them "bay-bay" as if they were talking to a colleague. He used profanity. This is the first time I've ever experienced something like this. This is outrageous service for Platinum guests. He didn't even inform us about breakfast times.

    This is a hotel in an excellent location - almost directly across the street from the main train station and at the entrance to the old town. The staff is helpful and friendly and the rooms are of a good size at a reasonable price. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a nice variety of items to choose from. I had a great stay here

    Basic but convenient

    This hotel has some pros and cons. Big pro is the location, right at the top of the Altstadt and easily accessible from the railway station, however my room looked out over Konigstrasse and it was VERY noisy every night with people walking by, restaurant downstairs. Unfortunately I couldn't be moved, so it was earplugs for me for the stay which definitely helped.The room is fairly generous for a Nuremberg hotel in size as is the bathroom, shower has fantastic pressure. If you like hand towels and face washers, bring your own because they are not supplied. Unlike another reviewer, the bed is so uncomfortable it was nearly unbearable, it was a 2 inch pad on top of a bed base, so not even a real mattress, it was awful for me, but if you like a hard mattress, you'll be OK. Heating in my room didn't seem to be adjustable at night, so was quite warm during the night.I would have expected a few basics in the room such as bottled water, tissues and a small room safe. If you have anything you need to lock up, reception can help.The staff were helpful, and provided me hot water for tea some nights as there is no facilities to do this.Hotel is having a major renovation next month, so maybe a few of these issues will be addressed.

    Great location but poor customer service by hotel management

    We had booked a two-night stay at this hotel in December and were allocated the last available double room. As this was on the top floor, it has a slanted ceiling, which means that if you are tall, you cannot walk into the room without either banging your head or ducking. While it is a large room, the layout of the room is impacted by the slanted ceiling, so it means the double bed is squeezed in somewhat and you can't really get in or out of the bed comfortably as there isn't a lot of space between the bed and the wall. The reception staff were very helpful but not able to move us as the hotel was fully booked, but we were able to move into a different room for the second night. The reason for our poor review is the response from the hotel management. It's not really fair to guests to rent out this particular room at the full rate, so we emailed the hotel manager on the first night of our stay to explain the situation and to ask for a partial refund for the first night. After not receiving a response for over a week, we emailed again in early January, but it wasn't until emailing for a third time and this time copying in the Accor customer service that we received a response more than three weeks after our initial email with the excuse that the hotel manager had been on leave (didn't receive an out of office response). We were told that they are unable to provide a partial refund because the slanted ceiling does not legally represent a deficiency and can therefore not be considered as impacting the use of the room, but for the inconvenience it has caused during our first stay we were offered some bonus points. It's no coincidence that this is the last room they allocate when the hotel is fully booked, and it is inappropriate to charge the full room rate for it. Will not be staying there again based on the disappointing way this was dealt with by the hotel management.

    Poor management!! Beware!!!

    I second the comments regarding poor management. When booking two rooms the computer glitched and reset the date to the day I was making the reservation. I noticed it when I went to print my confirmation. Tried calling the hotel, either the phone would not ring or it would ring for a long time with no answer. I write an -mail and they said sorry we are not changing the date and will keep your money. No acknowledgment of the system issues. So, they got the same money they would have had if they just moved the rooms two days. So, bottom line, if you ever have any issues at all, you will not receive any customer service and be totally screwed. So they got the same money they would have it they adjusted the date, but showed their true non-customer service. Book at your own risk!
